He knows what he's talking about! He's had tons of journalism, media, newspaper, editing, television, etc experience that sometimes it's more about networking with him than making an A in the class. Overall, a really nice guy. Papers are scrutinized to the fullest extent but the final exam is a breeze if you take half-ok notes.

Dr. Lamb is a good teacher because he has taught this class 100 times and doesn't seem bored with the material. Very passionate. You will have to work really hard to do well in this class. Handwriting is impossible to read, so be prepared to ask for help during office hours.

This class requires a lot of time. I studied extremely hard and always made grades in the 80's. His tests are hard but is willing to throw out questions that you think are unfair. 5 Tests and a final 15 pg paper, but he helps alot if you need it.

Dr. Lamb is a tough teacher...but soooo worth it. He makes class interesting, tells personal stories, and has to be one of the most knowledgeable professors in the comm department. He is willing to help and lets you rewrite some assignments. Take him if youre willing to work youll learn a LOT!

Professor Lamb is an amazing professor. It is not an easy course but he is extremely helpful and really wants you to get the grade you aim for. He is extremely helpful with any questions you have and is available through email and office hours. The only downside is that his handwriting is extremely hard to read when he corrects your papers

I've had him for three classes. You have to learn that he spells out to you exactly what he wants on papers and tests, its simple: give him what he wants! Follow his formula on papers and you'll do fine. He's very sweet and helpful, he honestly cares about students. Hes big on respect too!

Dr. Lamb is the real deal. You will have to work your heart out, but the end result will be worth it. Don't take this class/prof if you are a slacker. Even serious students will struggle, but his experience and input are priceless.

This class is damn near impossible to get an A in. You only get one shot at each type of article so you never really get a chance to improve on your mistakes. It's his way or the highway too. If you need something to help your GPA look elsewhere.

Highly recommended for aspiring journalists. He's the closest thing CofC has to a legitimate journalism course. That being said, Mass Media and Society was HARD! If you're not serious about responsible reporting, particularly political, take something easier. If you want to learn a ton, and willing to work your ass off, take Lamb. Dont expect an A!

I love this guy. He gives you tons of feedback about your work. You can re-write major assignments. He is very sarcastic, but he is hilarious if you actually listen to what he is saying. He dresses like he just got back from the beach. He is extremely knowledgeable- do what he says to do. He will revise any rough draft before you turn it in.

Great Professor!! Dr. Lamb has a lot of experience in the field. he is always available during office hours and such. Class is easy. Just follow the coursepack that gives you ALL the answers to any question he will ask. One short story per week. TONS of extra credit offered. Learned a lot about writing. Those that can't do, teach. Has personal issues against students. Doesn't allow for expression of student voice in writing -- if you don't write like him -- his bland self -- you will not do well. He stresses student expression, but will grade you negatively if you dare do anything that is not the coursebook. The man is a terrible human being.

hard class, but Chris Lamb is amazing. This class was really interesting and he explains himself very well. Lamb is the best comm teacher I have had at CofC. Recommend him for any class he teaches. ps you can tell his mood by clothing so watch out if he's sloppily dressed.
