Comment:

Dr. King-Smith was a really good teacher! She explained everything in detail and always made sure you understood how everything related in the bigger picture. Definitely need to go to class and really study for exams, but doing well is very doable if you apply yourself. Very helpful 1-on-1, but I've heard her class is harder than other sections.

Dr. King-Smith is an amazing professor! If you're looking for an easy professor who's 'inspirational' or whatnot, don't take her. I would recommend people who are truly passionate about Bio to take her just because you may find her hard or confusing. I do recommend people reading the book because she low key expects you to know some of the material

Love Dr. King-Smith. She's energetic and a great instructor. The lectures fly by, but make sure you're paying attention and write down what she writes on the board-don't worry so much about writing everything you see on the powerpoint because she posts everything on BlackBoard. She makes a tough class enjoyable. Definitely would take her again.

King-Smith can be an interesting person, but she has a bad habit of jumping around information and making it more confusing that it needs to be. If you're able to follow her train of thought and keep up with her speed then you'll do alright. Expect homework to be collected at least once a week.

Dr. KS really knows her stuff and loves the material. She's full of energy and answers every question. If she doesn't know the answer to a question, she will explore it and get back to us. She never makes us feel dumb. She drills the class sometimes to push us to our full potential and make sure we don't fall behind. Very helpful outside of class.

She is crazy but also a real good teacher. She doesn't have all the answers and doesn't act like she knows everything. A genuinely good teacher who wants her students to have the same passion for cells as her. Negative- she will probably never learn your name.

Had her for Phage lab. It was fairly easy the first semester, but required a solid amount of time outside of class. Second semester was less work and easier to get an A if you put the work in and did it consistently. She is very eccentric and full of energy. She can be confusing sometimes when explaining things but will always help.

It's college level BIOLOGY! what do you honestly expect?! all the teachers have the same lectures w/ the same book she atleast tries to mix it up and make it more interesting. she writes notes on the slides that help! Pretty cold hearted....Shes a robot with no emotion, shes a bore to take in class, and does in fact belittle others like previous students here have said. I think theres this feeling of general tension while in her class, where you feel as if you going to be dicked over at any moment by her, as its what she does best.
