I think she only went into teaching because she loves to hear herself talk. Wasn't helpless at all. I am a straight As student and my GPA suffered because it was a rough class. So much for an intro class, felt like I was taking a higher level of sociology.

This Prof is full of herself and tends to relate a simple intro to sociology class to her own life experience. She helps those that she is close with. If you are not use to reading don't take her. I felt like I was earning my PhD after taking this class my freshman yr. I wouldn't recommend taking her class.

It's impossible to be bored in her class! She's a phenomenal speaker and teaches with so much enthusiasm. If you want an A, there are NO short-cuts and no curves, so be prepared to put in the work. 4 exams (55q) + Final (100q) ONLY! Make each one count. Exams are tricky. Be engaged and participate! Who wants to teach a room full of a dead crowd?

she is pretty AMAZING. will push you but she always means well. Reading are required,mandatory is required. be expected to discuss in her class as a lot of her class is discussion based. AMMMMAZING!!! loved her!!! she's so clear and entertaining in the classroom, office hours are super helpful, the textbook is expensive but well written. Her tests are no joke, its not an easy A, but if you stay on the reading and really pay attention make sure you understand the material you will be fine! Make a study group if possible!

Very interesting and eye-opening class! Come to her office hour to discuss, ask questions if you're too shy to do so in class because hey, it might be an alternative way to involve and contribute. Read the books thoroughly as the details asked in the tests can be absurd. After all, knowledge in this class worths your time!

Preciado is absolutely amazing! Definitely the best teacher I've had not only at SMC but throughout my academic career! She's very inspiring and extremely passionate. Not an easy A. Lots of work, but so rewarding. I learned so much in this class and it was enjoyable to learn. Form study groups! It will help like crazy if you talk the concepts and chapters out. Also go to her office hours and talk to her, she's awesome, and check out what you got right and wrong on your test. Take her class before she retires!

This class was amazing, intense, and wonderful all in one. Straight forward lovely interactive lectures. Reading chptrs is mandatory. 4 exams 1 final. study group recommended. I learned a lot and loved her methodology and humor. I highly recommend this class! as it was recommended to me.

This woman is off the charts AMAZING. Granted she is a little intimidating at first she will literally raise your IQ by the end of the semester. She is one of the best professors I have ever had because she knows how to really teach. She almost teaches too good because now when I'm in other classes I know everything and get bored lol TAKE HER!
