I don't know where all this guff is coming from. Dr. Barnes is the best instructor I've had at Dal. Crystal clear lecturer. The exam is simple if you know your stuff.

Taking her tests and exams was like Hell on Earth. The grade didnèt even reflect what you wrote. It was like she just pulled a letter out of a bag and gave it to you. Not impressed in the slightest.

Test are relatively reasonable, but the way that her little graduate student marks them based on her marking scheme is absolutely insane. Just take the course and be happy if you come out alive with a "B." Why don't teachers want students to do well? I did learn a bit though. Mark doesn't reflect knowledge learned.

The absolute worst teacher I have ever had. She was inconsistent in the material presented and her first exams don't reflect what you learn in class. Although the final makes more sense, if you go see it she offers no reasons why she took off points. One more pointer...apparantly she wont answer review questions if it is to be on the exam!!!

I hated this class with a passion. The exams were completely unfair and I think she just wants to do the paperwork to kick the honours students out of the micro department. PS - she's terrible as an academic/honours advisor as well. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

She was crazy! Expected way too much on the midterm in a short amount of time, many smart people failed. Give her what she wants to hear, not what is right, and you may do ok. Be prepared to do poorly at first.
