Lecs are very interesting and well prepared. Lec notes, exam prep, reading Q's are online, so sit back and watch the stuff. Have for TA, raises interesting Q's, but does not always discuss stuff in txt, so seems unprepared. Note FPA111 contains 16 txt readings, 6/16 journals (Due SAME time as readings), 1 essay. VERY INTENSIVE! Think as 2 COURSES!

Do not take this course "just for fun". It is anything but and this professor is an inncredibly hard marker for a 100 level course. The course readings were extremely hard and the marking was a little extreme.She is a bit of a pseudo art snob, or is trying to appear as such. I would not reccomend taking anythin this prof teaches.

Rude and patronizing prof. Would shush the class & wag her finger like we were 5 yrs old. Forgets she's not the only adult in the room. Unhelpful in emails. Chose art to study on the basis of it making her look like she was cultured and high-class. All she did was regurgitate standard answers about the art. Hard marking for a 100 level class.

I still can't believe I survived this class! It was just utterly bizarre, and I felt like the readings were way too hard for a 100 level course. It's too much, and if you disagree with her with any point, then you've dug yourself in a deep hole. I wish this class was more interesting, better prof, easier reading material.

I made one critique in her tutorial about some artwork which she liked, then ever since she had been on my butt in terms of marking. She doesn't like me and she does not like others' opinions. The material chosen for this course is not very broad because they are works that Christine is interested in. This is her course, not about learning art

At first, this class and Stoddard as the instructor seemed fine. Half way through, however, it became terribly clear that this class is just bizarre and of use only to those who adore Contemporary Arts. Anyone else, in any other faculty, will find this course awul and strange. The workload was also very heavy.

The readings for this course is harder than any University English courses. The Prof + TAs are nice though. You must have a BIG interest in Fine Arts or else you will find EVERYTHING strange. Workload is also very heavy.

Good lecturer, I don't know how helpful she is b/c I've never asked her for any. Lectures seem very clear, even given the rather abstract source material (which I think is taken a little too seriously) but overall raises some interesting points. Readings could definitely benefit by being more general and contextualized. Especially for tut. D101.

One of the most confusing classes i've encountered. Nice enough person but the films we watch are pointless. Lots of ridiculous feminist and Marxist ideas discussed. Boring and frustrating course, decent prof.

I thought Christine was awesome prof - very interesting - up beat - her lectures flowed well - tons of multi-media stuff going on but she always was well prepared. The course content was tough - a lot of info (much like any other huge entry level course like BIO 101) - very relevent to today's art world - amanda is a wicked TA

Christine is a great lecturer--I don't know why everyone is complaining. Of course it does help to have a genuine interest in the content & have excellent reading & writing skills. Readings are a bit dry sometimes, but just go to tutorial and lecture & you'll be fine. TA Phil was amazing.Great class

why is everyone complaining about christine? she's very clear and explains things thoroughly and tries to cover as much as possible. also her exam=VERY GENEROUS! gives u FULL exam outline which tells u EXACTLY what's gonna be on exam, and she choses the EASIEST ones for the exam, no tricks! :)

By far the worst teacher I have ever encountered. When trying to talk to her after class/in office hours she was rude and unhelpful. Please save yourself time and money by not taking this class with Christine.
