He is full of himself. He does not reply to emails, is not available for office hours, and leaves NO COMMENTS on graded material. I would definitely not take him again. Gave a group presentation with little instructions, grades a 100 level class like a 400 level class, and does NOT justify his grading. ALSO, grades attendance at the end. Terrible!

Hes a good professor but the amount of work he assigns is enough for all the classes you'll take in a semester. He knows his stuff and is willing to debate different points of view. If you take him be ready to lose all your free time.

Comment:

Dr. Fisher is an amazing professor. He knows a lot about African American history and he helped me understand how different events in history fit together. This is the best history class I have ever taken, he didn't just give us summaries but he explained the context, relevance & impact. There is a lot of reading for this class but you learn.

Comment:

One of the worst professors Ive had at TCNJ. His lectures are so boring on content that should be talked about and taught so that people actually learn and want to go to class. He never answers emails and is very rude in my opinion. Offered extra credit and did not grant the credit that was supposed to be received. Thinks he's great. He isn't.

I wasn't the best student when it came to this class but the in class lectures were very enjoyable. He was a fair grader and I got the grade I deserved. Lots of reading but you can get away with not doing it.

This professor does not understand the meaning of a 100 level class. Graded papers extremely harshly and gave very boring lectures. Assigned a group presentation with pretty much no instructions and arbitrarily gave our group a B which impacted the final grade significantly. Says he grades attendance but doesn't so there's no point in going.

He's tough but honestly one the best professors I have ever had. He's really knows how to make history sound interesting. Be prepared to read quite a bit because he does assign readings for HW. Overall, he's a genuine guy and I would definitely take his class again if I have the opportunity!

Professor Fisher is a great professor and expects a lot from his students. He is a pretty tough grader, and is very strict with his policies. He expects students to do a lot of reading, and participation/attendance matters.

Professor Fisher really wants his students to learn. While he is a tough grader, there are only 2 major papers and only one final. His lectures are really chill and you can tell that he really loves his job. He keeps class interesting and everyone should definitely take him.

A great teacher if you are genuinely interested about the topic. He makes history as interesting as it possibly can be and offers help if you need it. He is a very tough grader but he will help you to find and correct your mistakes. He is also very understandable and will work with you with most things

He is a great teacher & I learned a lot in his class. There are a lot of readings but they are interesting and easy to get through. He is a fair grader on papers but he gives a lot of good feedback. You have to do 3 discussion posts for his class every week which are an easy grade boost if you do them. A little challenging but definitely worth it.

Professor Fisher has been my favorite professor I have had at TCNJ. He is a great guy and really wants his students to succeed. I have taken him twice and hope to take him again. He is there for his students if they need help. Papers are long but gives great feedback so you can improve on the next one. If you have to take History class take Fisher

Fisher was the man! Incredibly smart guy, but his lectures were boring at some points. He's a tough grader, but he explains what to put in his papers a week before they are due. I barely did any of the readings for the class and still got a pretty good grade. The class in itself was very eye-opening (US Race Relations). I recommend Prof. Fisher.

Comment:

Prof. Fisher is absolutely amazing. He makes you work for your grade and A is not easy to get. However, it is possible as long as you read assigned books, participate online, and show him that you care about the class. I would take his classes again. The way he teaches made me remember every little thing and I don't think i will ever forget it.

Professor Fisher is extremely smart and passionate about what he teaches. Yes the lectures can be long, but they're extremely interesting and you'll definitely learn something from any of his classes. He does grade essays a little toughly. However, the final exam is very fair and wasn't unreasonably difficult. I would definitely recommend him

Tough professor. Paper topics are terrible and the final exam was graded incredibly harshly. His classes themselves are interesting although he's all over the place and very scatter brained.
