Givler is a great person; very friendly and likes to get to know students. However after taking his class I felt like I did not learn anything, or the fundamentals of Bible (at a Christian College mind you). He is very opinionated and steps on students toes way too often about his personal Orthodox views. If you need Bible gen ed take another prof.

Such an awesome guy! The best thing about him is he makes time for his students outside of the classroom and will have lunch with you/call you by your nickanme/carry on conversations like a regular friend. Definitely take a class with him. =)

Comment:

One of the few Orthodox professors, is sincere about his beliefs and the Bible. Very personable, has really corny and quirky humor that is weird at first but becomes lovable. Pretty easy if you do basic reading. Loved him.

flat out told us that if we don't believe the wine/bread is actually christ's body that we aren't going to heaven. Has his views and if you don't,you're wrong. trust me..good luck putting up a fight. he's got a lot of information but i feel he's missing the point of christ by being too obssessed with orthodoxy. just my opinion.take it or leave it.
