great and relatable professor. I had him at a different campus and class. It was a 3 hr Night Class but I always looked forward to it and it never felt long! Get ready to work hard but its worth it!!

Best professor I've had in biology and sciences at SFU. Truly inspiring with regards to toxicology and focused on the use of science and logic in environmental issues. His lectures were clear, organized, and material heavy. Knows his stuff. One extra positive; hilarious!

Only graded on the midterm and final exams, but the material was not too bad. The material was interesting to learn and he's a good lecturer! The in class notes are posted and there are lecture recordings, so that was helpful! He's a funny guy and I enjoyed his class!

Very interesting topics, I liked most of it. Materials can be hard if you have zero memory from your first year biology or chemistry.

He is definitely an excellent lecture. His class is very engaging and material heavy the same time. Exams are straightforward, you do need to study for them, but nothing tricky. I really enjoyed his talks and funny jokes!

Best prof I've ever had in 3 years! Very committed to environmental issues and his enthusiasm is great. Lectures were really good, organized, and his exams were directly related to the lectures. Funny too.

Only taught the animal part of this class and was ill for several lectures so we had an instructor fill in for most of it. No real way to evaluate Kennedy, but from what I did see he was very keen on biology and had clean organized slides. Good sense of humour too.

He was barely present for his part of the course and when he was, he seemed bitter. I think he has the potential to be a good prof and maybe we were unfortunate to catch him at a bad time. I was really excited for animal biology and it was a huge disappointment. Difficult to know what to focus on. Final was all over the place. Not impressed.

Chris is a pretty awful instructor. His notes are bare bones and unorganized. He spends more class time on personal rants than teaching. His exam questions focus on weird, nit-picky details that test memorization not the ability to understand concepts.

His part of the final does not cover the most important part of his lectures. It instead emphasizes on graphs and figures students wold usually skip reading because they don't see them as important. Very unreasonable marking scheme making questions worth an unnecessary high amount of marks.

Kennedy had amazing slides and organization. He did't follow the textbook but then the exam was on his slides which he gives you anyway. You can follow along with his slides in front of you. He had clear examples of animals that showed AMAZING examples of physiology. I'd take another course from his f'sure.

Super helpful outside of class. Gave me tons of study tips for the animal section. Also going to do some volunteering in his lab in fall. Great prof!

Comment:
Kennedy's lectures are extremely boring and his teaching style is a mess. His marking scheme for the final exam was insane; he asked the most irrelevant questions and completely neglected the topics he emphasized during class. However, if you read the notes, textbook, and do your own research, the exam is relatively easy.

TERRIBLE final. What I studied off his slides didn't appear on the exam. Had to know how a hawk moth regulates body temperature which is worth 10 marks (didn't answer that)! Slides - blegh. Exam questions: absolutely horrid. Expect GRAPHS and SUPER insignificant information to be thrown on there. Exam format is only short answer. Kennedy pass.

Seems like a nice guy but once it came time to the exam I am immediately not a fan. The mark distribution on his questions was pretty ridiculous. All I can say is that he loves his graphs. Know those first. Very unclear as to what he wants from you until you get to the final and see it for yourself.

Great lectures and slides and a lot of amazing information about biology. BUT don't ask this prof to help you -- he won't. He only cares about his research and will humiliate you behind closed doors. Unless he likes you (which is totally arbitrary), you are on your own. This university is not about getting your money's worth.

Always talks about going to his personal trainer... At least once each lecture!
