So much reading. You have 4 books to read and he calls on your randomly to speak about the readings. If you do the readings, pay attention and study then you will pass. Participate in class and show you know what you're talking about in order to be exempt from the final. No grading criteria, its so random and the class is extremely boring.

Very very unorganized. He speaks softly and you must participate every day so DO THE READING. Papers are easy, but in class discussions are difficult.

This professor is not interested on intellect or participation. Everything he does is based off whether he likes you or not. I did my work and paid attention, but the only time he called on me was to ridicule or humiliate me in front of the other students. I really liked philosophy before, but he made me dislike it.

This guy is hilarious. He would always call us "bad students" and then call you a good student at the next class. Funny as hell. Taking him take him take him.

Grades consist of two easy exams, a paper, and most importantly your attendance and participation in class. He doesn' like technology in class but as long as you read and come to class you'l probably do well. The setup is a bit more free-form than most other classes as students usually present something while the professor points out necessary info

Dr. Evangeliou is a nice person but a horrible professor. He is unclear with everything he says and don't expect any of your questions to be answered. The only grades he takes are the midterm and the final and possibly a presentation. No study guides, no handouts, notes are really scattered. Also an anti- technology class. He doesn't use blackboard

Great guy, intelligent and genuinely interested in educating his students. He exempts the top student from the final exam. Overall if you do the reading assignment every night, show up to class everyday on time, and write the two papers according to guidelines, you will pass. Midterm exam was extremely easy This is an unconventionally taught class.

This is NOT a traditional class room setting. That doesn't make it bad though. It's easy and my class in particular was fun to go to since everybody laughed and had a good time. He's strange, and anal about lateness and attendance. If you like a class where everything is discussion oriented, you'll like him

He is a very strange profesor, and sometimes hard to understand but if you show you are working hard he will like you. Partcipate a lot the entire class is just reading and discussions. The readings are boring but you can look them all up online. Unclear guidelines so ask a lot of questions. if you have to take this class take it with him

Not a structured class at all, if you don't plan on going to class everyday then don't take him. Actually if you don't like weird classes don't take this guy. Funny guy but boring class

I was a great student, very active in discussions and came prepared everyday. He was so unclear on his essay questions and gave no study guides, basically he passes you if he likes you or not. As an A student in my last semester of college I regret taking this course. I might not pass.

Kind of funny as a professor and a kind of odd old man. Reading the fragments is very important but I managed to get an A- on the final barely having read the books and just going off the lectures, so make sure you pay attention and take notes when reading and in class. 1 or 2 days when you and a partner present a reading. Tests aren't too hard.

I enjoyed Professor Evangeliou's Hellenistic and Medieval Philosophy class. We covered material ranging from the Epicureans to Aquinas. The class was quite easy; just read the books, and you will do fine. Remember to follow the guidelines for papers; this is really important. Overall, this class really enriched my life.

He is very smart, and can be pretty funny, but I did not think he was a good professor. Every discussion was him randomly calling on everyone, even if someone else's hand was up. He also did not give very clear expectations on assignments. If you really love Greek philosophy, it can be interesting, but I did not particularly enjoy it.

This isn't the class I thought it was. I skipped and slept in it a lot. Overall not to bad. If i was interested or put any effort/did the readings I would have gotten an A. He liked me and I did mediocre work and still got out with a B. The class votes who the best 2 students are and they are exempt from the final. Good GenEd.

Kind of in the middle about him, he definitely grew on me. Seems more intimidating than he really is. Not great at further explaining things for clarity, but kind of just repeats the thing you already didn't understand. Definitely keep up with the readings and be prepared to get randomly called on! Very knowledgeable in his field of study.

This man is a genius! Way too smart to be teaching a 101 class... Short assignments every night but if you pay attention and do the work he exempts "good students" from the final... Go to class and you basically just discuss.. 2 tests... GREAT CLASS!

This man must be from another planet. His teaching style is bizarre. If you want a structured class where you know what is expected of you this is NOT it. His directions are vague and he words things awkwardly. Nice guy, if you agree with him. Don't bother with this class.

Very funny guy, his class is a unique experience. Show up on time all the time, he is very strict about that. It's all about participation, as doing that helps on the exams. He has a really weird sense of humor and loves to do the Big Fat Greek Wedding dad thing with words being Greek in the middle of class. The way he talks to people is hilarious
