I LOVE FATHER CLAUDE! He is such a sweetheart. His stories about his adventures in Latin America are so much fun to listen to. He usually spends the class lecturing. No powerpoints. If you attend class and actually listen to what he is saying, you'll pass with flying colors.

Very boring class. Def don't need to go to class, except for the days when he gives quizzes on reading from the Christian Science Monitor. Tests were not too hard, but hard grader on papers. Class lectures are very unorganized and do not relate to the tests or papers assigned. Professor himself is a nice guy, just not a good teacher.

Father Claude is great. He loves discussions rather than just talking at you. His tests aren't bad, he's a pretty easy grader but the tests are somewhat unpredictable. There's one paper, he's really flexible with it. He loves bringing current events in, I really enjoyed the class. You can learn a ton from him if you show up and ask questions

I took his class and struggled immensely. I attended every single class, took notes and did all of the reading. Overall the class is very disorganized and he does a poor job explaining exactly what he wants. His lectures were very scattered and hardly pertinent to his exams. I suggest avoiding him if possible.

His lectures are useless, talks about whatever he wants, which is rarely about anything we are supposed to be learning. Have taken many classes with him and still have no idea how he grades or what he expects from his students. Usually gives me B's and worse on essays and can't tell me why he did even though I feel like my work is worth much more.

Father Claude is an awesome guy, and is very helpful outside of class. His lectures are often unclear because he teches broad concepts instead of easy note taking material. Tough class if you aren't a good writer.

Best I can is that he isn't the worst I've ever had. Lectures are meaningless. I'm not a bad student (3.9 GPA) but I still get bad grades, b/c I have no idea what he wants, yet he'd rather give his opinion something off-topic than teach you his expectations

I think Father Pomerleau is lost on students. He is meant for those who want to learn, be engaged and challenged.

Cluade can be very useful, but you have to pick his brain. If you enjoy Latin American studies and are motivated to learn, than he is very helpful. Also, he is highly connected and he has the potential of furthering your goals if you ask him.

Captain Tangent is cool but rambles about stuff that although very interesting has no relevance to your grade.

He is such a nice guy but he goes off on tangents that last for forty minute intervals. The reading is ridiculously long and, for the most part, completely inconsequential. Do your papers early and run them by him for advice. Good luck on the tests.

He goes off on tangents. I haven't learned what was promised. I find myself banging my head against the desk during his breaks. I will never take another class from him ever again.

I didn't learn one thing in this class, no joke. You could just do some light reading the night before the test and get an A. There was so much to learn about the EU and I didn't learn anything. Pomerleau has got to start actually teaching.

I really like Fr. Pomerleau, and my favorite days are when he does go off on those tangents. On the other hand, while I love the subject and the teacher, I do find that I fall asleep in class, too.

Odd guy. Has loads of stories, but he often takes off on a tangent during the lecture to tell one, leaving the student lost on the material. Wants to hear what YOU think, rather than what you can recite from the books.

Very weird sense of humor. Is tough to get used to. Wants your opinion in papers, rather than covering the material from class.
