She gives out way too much homework and expects you to remember everything from 101. Her lessons aren't well developed and the class gets confused. She doesn't care about your other classes and said so herself that hers is the most important. She doesn't know what she wants and expects you to figure it all out. Her test were hard, she gave homework every day, and she is a tough grader, but at the end of the semester you'll learn a lot of Italian from her. I definitely did. I got a B in her class as well while i was taking 19 units, so If i can do it you can do it.

Such a great teacher, she also moves pretty fast so if you miss a day or two you will be behind just let her know when you will be missing class and why and she will go out of her way to actually let you catch up. But she is not there to babysit you put your part and she puts hers.

Nice teacher, but rather unclear when giving out instructions for her activities and doesn't give that many useful examples. Can get rather dull after a while. She also tends to tell you about the tests and quizzes last minute so beware. Lots of homework, but it doesn't really matter if you do it right or not you still get credit

Highly UNrecommended!! She treats college students as if they were in elementary. Doesn't know the meaning of respect. Likes to shout when frustrated. Grade depends on how much she likes you! I tried to stay under the radar, so I didn't have much trouble, but I didn't like the way she treated most of my classmates. I did well, but it was a pain!

No extra Credit except for getting a job somewhere for like 15 hours. Homework every day even weekends online and In the book. No leeway on quizzes even if they are unclear. we had to follow directions on a map and i knew all the words but her explanation of where to start was unclear many people missed it and failed that test. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I spoke english only..so I had alot of trouble. If you don't know spanish already, then get an italian tutor and snag a spanish friend in class to buddy up with. Do your homework everyday, study, and be on time. Also do your italian events early.If you do everything and get an OK score on tests, you'll end up with an OK grade. :)

She seems pretty cool at first, but as the semester goes on she really speeds up the work and how we learn it. We only spent two or three class day on on chapter. she dosent teach you where the acent marks go or the grammer. I speak a lil spanish and I still failed the class so she seems nice but I'd choose another teacher if I had the chnace.

Very chill teacher! Makes it a fun class with different activities or group work. Don't stress whether the homework is wrong. As long as you do it she'll give you full credit. Study what you review in class & you will pass! She also gave out LATE WORK PASSES for Italian so save those in case u forget an assignment. Those were really helpful!

Comment:

Mrs. Calandra is a nice teacher, very tough when it comes to homework, but if you really want to learn Italian, try her. She is very demanding , but is part of being a succesful student. Grazie per tutto professoresa Calandra :)
