I absolutely LOVE history. Hated this class. I consider myself pretty good at paying attention, but Lockard's lectures are SO boring even I couldn't stand them. His multiple choice tests are worded weird and insanely difficult. Got a B just because I figured out how to BS my way through his essay exams. Don't take- you will be sorry.

The class was interesting, the content was interesting. but for a morning class it put me to sleep. He has a quite monotone voice. THE EXAMS ARE EXTREMELY HARD...their is no way to study for them. If this is a class you have to take I am sorry for you. If you don't have to take it DON'T. It will bring your GPA down.

He is a very boring teacher. But his class is very easy. He puts his outlines of classes online and you dont even need to read or attend class to get As on his writing exams. I would take him. Only need to go to class for the exams.

This class is horrible. Way to much information for a 50 pt test. Focuses too much on asian history. I would HIGHLY recommend not taking the class if you do not need it. way to hard of class for 100 level. When I asked him for advice on what to do to get my grade up or what he would recommend, he told me he can't help me.

The class is super boring. Lectures were a 1hr 20 min and tedious to sit through. Most(not all)of the movies he showed were interesting only reason to go to class. Final exam is 50% of the grade and the other 50% is based on a project. Hard to know if you will pass or fail until after the exam. talk about stress! Warning DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

Very difficult class.. Usually boring but sometimes he gets a little off topic and is pretty weird.. Lots of studying required and you must pay attention. Don't take it if you don't like writing because he does research papers and essay exams.

Lockard is good but really dry. He just stands in front of the class and lectures - no discussion whatsoever. That said, he really knows his material well. He could record his lectures and use them as sleep aids if he ever runs low on cash...

He is a rather odd man, but he does know a lot about history. His jokes are bad, and he starts class with weird music. he does give the option of written or multiple choice test, take the written one. He totally makes the other one ridiculously hard. I think he finds that amusing. Class attendance is a must, you will fail if you skip too much.

I don't understand why people complain about Lockard so much. He's a good professor and his classes are not that difficult unless you skip a 1/3 or more of the classes. I didn't read the text but attended most of the classes and got an A. Yeah he covers a lot of information but this is college after all.
