Craig is a good guy and an interesting lecturer, though the course material is incredibly boring. Plus, he requires this ridiculously expensive textbook for the course because, as he put it, it has the nicest pictures of the available textbooks.

Learned a lot of history, but could have learned a lot sitting at home with my textbook instead of going to class.

He is such an engaged and interesting prof! Actually cares about the work he does and makes the history of theatre (a generally dull subject at times) really interesting. Makes a point to make eye contact and addresses students. Also funny and super nice! An awesome prof, happy to have him for a full year :)

Too bad Craig is such a heartless jerk, otherwise he'd be a great prof.

Very smart, although a bit pompous. Somewhat intimidating, but approachable when you make the effort. A very good resource for clarifying assignments or a play. Very conscious of students' needs, as far as deadlines etc. go. I disagree that he is crude, but rather he is frank. Reading the textbook (including footnotes) is a must for his courses.

Life alteringly awesome. You don't get many like Craig. Take every class you can with him. See every play he directs. Listen, read and revel in his words. (Easy on the eyes, too!)

Craig is a wise and funny prof. And yes, he is a nice guy for sure, but the idea that he is "crude" is just silly prudishness. He is too sophisticated to be shy about talking frankly (and amusingly) about the more vulgar aspects of ancient theatre---why not?---but he talks way more about religion, philosophy, art, etc. Fascinating stuff.

You're a nice guy Craig... a nice guy if a little enthusiactic and (dare I say it) crude. I mean, how many times did you use the word 'phallus' in class?

Craig is brilliant, absolutely one of the smartest people in that department by far, and he has a wicked sense of humour. He was known for being just a little bit creepy though. But he's nice, and he's an excellent professor.

Maybe it was in part because our class was at 8:30 on Monday morning, but I didn't find Craig to be all that helpful or challenging, especially after having Michelle Newman the term before. A little arrogant as well, and also kind of sexy.
