I don't know how I passed. On one quiz I didn't even fill out the paper. If I had to guess it's because I tried my best to be active in class (even in a sarcastically funny way) and I think Rarick enjoyed the positive vibe I gave off. He's a great guy, and I think because I connected with him I passed, because most classes I was completely lost.

Pretty good professor my only complaint is that his class goes very fast. He has a lot of funny moments and he does do a good job of making things clear

He's very accommodating, and is understanding with the workload he provides. Is always around to help with whatever you need. Offers a lot of extra resources to use outside of class. Awesome Professor! I wouldn't have passed without him!

I've had him twice now, and in this course he assigned less homework which would normally be good, but I rely on the homework to force vocab down my throat. Exams were a bit tougher unless you studied a lot of vocab on your own. All his exams are marathons, but he does scale them. He's a funny and easy going, but he takes forever to grade exams.

I love this man but I hate German. I was planning on doing the IEP and the accelerated class is very difficult. It is very fast paced and you really have to keep up if you want to do well you do need the book he asks for get them before and start memorizing

Amazing teacher. Lots of online homework which is understandable for learning a language. Exams are kind of difficult and long but they are in class and he scales them so they're not too bad. If you have the chance of taking him definitely do it!

Professor Rarick is a really nice guy with a great sense of humor. However, I did not like his teaching style. He never went over most of the grammar points in depth, and when he did go over them it was once for ten minutes at most. While some of the stuff did come fairly naturally with his teaching style, I feel like I hardly learned anything.

Damon is honestly one of the best Professors I've ever had. He keeps class interesting and keeps you involved. Learning the language comes rather naturally in his class, and he's an easy grader. Not to mention, if you need any help ever he'll take the time for you. I highly recommend taking a class with him. It is completely worth it.

Good professor makes the language extremely fun and gives fun activities to help you learn. Tests are tough compared to the class material. This is my second time having him and seemed more unorganized and took forever to hand back tests and I hardly ever saw my handed in work back and graded, which made it difficult to study.

Very good sense of humor. Made my first semester of German alot of fun and made me want to keep going with it. Different type of teaching style than most but for me it worked very well. Focuses alot on writing.

Attendance is not mandatory but graded (3pts/class). He is very funny, assigns homework every class, and has made learn learning languages fun which I have never experienced before. You have to keep after him to pass back tests, but then lets you fix the exams for a 5% addition to your text grade. I strongly recommend him!

Unclear about his expectations. He lacks structure...his only tactic is to constantly have us interview one another the same useless questions, and write essays on the same useless topics. Games/interviews would be okay if they weren't the only thing...why not some text usage and note taking for organization of ideas?

Started off the semester with a really funny spiel about his background. Everything went downhill from there. So disorganized, no structure to the class, & only used the textbooks twice this semester. All we do is interview each other & email him tons of hw! Received only a few corrected hw back. Was minoring in German but I'm no longer interested!
