He is an excellent professor! the material is hard because its old English. If you are ESL you might have a hard time like me. I recommend reading sparknotes or summaries before you even read the material and youll do fine! Lots of extra credit and class discussions!

What a great class and great lecturer. Prof Engster is great at breaking down complex ideas into consumable parts. Great at engaging the class in discussions, able to rationally apply theories to crazy hypothetical questions. The class itself is brain candy, sparking interesting group discussions.

Mr. Engster's lectures are very interesting. He is a tough grader, and his class is somewhat time consuming, but he is always in his office hours & is very helpful. He gives students extra credit by doing summaries. I got a high C on the midterm but did a lot of summaries, worked my butt off on the paper & final and got an A+ for the class.

Do the readings and come to class and you'll do fine. Midterm and final are the only tests and there is a paper. Be sure you review your lecture notes (take down everything on the board) and study the "main points" before exams and you'll do great. Ended up with a 109 in his class

Exceptional Professor! Made a difficult course fun and entertaining. Had reading quizzes the first day of any new reading. Easy questions used mainly as an attendence gauge. Exams had ten essay questions that were challenging but not that difficult if you read and kept earlier quiz questions. One 6-8 page paper. Highly recommend!

Dan is the man! LOL All you have to do is take notes in class- the tests will cover them! Group and class-opening quizzes are pretty easy, and if you miss one you have an extra-credit op. for every one missed. Word(s) of advice: go to class. You'll regret it if you don't. There's a lot of note-taking in this class... but it helps since all of his tests are pretty much word-for-word. It's hard to study for them, though, so you're better off going to TA sessions. My friend & I think his TA looks at his tests and gives her reviews based on the test.. really helpful! I made 90 on my midterm & 96 on my final. TAKE HIM!

He's really nice and SO adorable! Tries to let everyone share their opinion but obviously has to move on with class because there's a lot to cover. That also means there's a lot of notes. He gives opening quizzes about the reading for the day and Group Quizzes about what you think of the lecture at the end of class. Only 2 tests--a midterm & final.

Dr Engster is soo amazing. He is sooo cool. I loved going to his class, he teaches straightforward, really clear on everything. Its a really fun class. He gets you involved. Class discussions are also the best! And he is absolutely gorgeous so thats a deffinate perk!@ haa ;) Deffinately take him more than once, cause it will be worth it!

He says umm soooooo much, and it is really annoying, so it pretty much makes you zone out as to what he is saying. You have to read, becaue he gives quizzes and in class group work over it. As long as you read and go to class the tests are really easy..I just missed to many classes
