DBMcK is the best. You can show up once a week for the quizzes and be fine, minimal studying for exams will be an easy A. Always gives extra credit and scales exams. He's awesome, awesome class for a gen ed

Dan is a really cool and chill guy. He has such a passion for music and infuses his lectures with awesome sounds and visuals. Sometimes he plays instruments himself to provide examples. I definitely recommend his and his Roots of Rock class which was interesting and educational. Pretty easy A if you put in minimal work. Don't buy the textbooks.

I took it Spring '15, which was the first time the class was being offered. That being said - it was very unorganized. Changed test format mid semester, graded very harshly and was not very clear in what he wanted in papers. Good guy, but gets sidetracked easily and assigns WAY too much reading. Has potential, but he talks very monotone.

B-McK is so great. Clearly a really intelligent and funny guy. He just seems really with it, and not a mean bone in his body. Wish i'd had him for 401 too. Take his class!!

Great professor! Attendance isn't mandatory but there are quizzes each week that are unannounced. The listening identifications he assigns are important because they show up on both the quizzes and exams. Overall an easy fine art gen ed!

Great guy and a good professor. His Music History class is interesting, and it's an easy grade if you need something for your fine arts gen ed. He's very enthusiastic about the subject and keeps the class interesting by playing music clips all the time. He assigns readings, but you can easily pass the course without ever opening the text.

Such an awesome guy! I am heavily into music and this class really put everything in perspective for me...it was cool. Class can get boring sometimes but test are real easy if you have a musical background. Make sure you go to class to take the quizzes, they count for a lot and are real easy.

Really nice guy, easy class. I pretty much did none of the assigned reading so far all semester and still got an A on the midterm. The only negative thing I would say is that he takes a very long time to get assignments/grades back to you, and seems to be a bit inept with technology - has a hard time getting music to play sometimes, etc.

He's a really nice guy, and obviously loves his stuff, but it's midsemester and I haven't gotten back a single assignment. Also, he often gets very sidetracked, which isn't BAD, it just can get a little confusing on occasion. He's given us coffee and we sometimes go outside, which is wonderful for relaxation, but not so great for learning.
