Darrel was by far the worst English teacher I have ever had. I tried numerous times to get help from whether it be making appointments with him, or seeing him after class. He never gave me anything I could improve on, only went over what was wrong in my papers. Everything I learned in that class was self taught from the textbook.

I enjoyed this class as it made me think about literature in a new way. Most of the class time is used to interpret stories in groups so be prepared for that. In the beginning, we learned in 1 lesson how to formulate a paper and that was it. If you have trouble, I suggest the writing center or help from teacher. Overall good experience. 5 papers!

Absolute worst/boring teacher! Darrell is the toughest grader ever. Our class had about 25 students and out of the 5 essays we had to write in his class, no one ever got an A. If you turn in a 5-page paper and forget to add a comma anywhere in the paper you lose 20% of the paper's grade. If I had any other teacher my B- would have been an A.

Laird is so old and difficult to understand because he mumbles and whispers his lectures pretty much. Average grade in my class is a C+ and he doesn't even teach. Tells us to read the textbook or use the internet haven't learned one thing from him. Also when asked for help or questions on a mark he does not give you feedback just a bad mark.

This guy sucks! Showing up to his class is dreadful. All he does is read the text and then essentially make you talk to each other. Assigns papers but doesn't tel you how to write it, how he wants it or what techniques to use. Tells you to go read the book and then marks you super harshly. Worst prof ever.

He's a tough marker but still very fair. Some of his lectures can be a little boring and stiff. He's very by the book but this is actually nice sometimes because assignments and grading is clear. Don't take his classes if you don't like class discussion or public speaking. I do so I found it very fun!

Darrell is a nice guy, and very passionate about English but i found that he didn't really teach much and just expected everyone to figure out the proper way to do it. The textbook helped a lot with this. If you do the work you should be fine but he is a very formal person and so he is a tough grader

Relatively easy, just show up and participate in the group discussions. He can ramble but use it to your advantage. I liked the group discussions because it meant minimal homework, but inconvenient no one shows. Hard marker, corrections are hard to read, fix a few things for the next essay your grade will jump up by a grade/grade and a half

Darrel is really cool, and has a pretty good sense of humour. His class is pretty focused on group discussion, which I liked. He's a fairly tough marker, but as long as you put some effort in, and have the slightest affinity for writing, then you should do alright. His written feedback is semi-legible at best, so don't be shy to ask him to clarify.

This instructor is a very nice elderly man. Quiet, and soft spoken. His classes revolves around discussion! This was so helpful when it came to understanding the readings. He really likes those who participate and share their ideas. I found that he marked fairly, no paper gets an A without it being perfect. He's a good prof.
