Awful class!! Do not recommend him. His lectures are very scattered. He doesn't go on track with the lab. There's only 2 tests, midterm and final.

WORSE CLASS! Although Dr. Dave is pretty cool, you only get two chances to get a grade; midterm and final exam. You definitley have to study a lot for his tests. He is a great person and tries to help his students but how he teaches the course isn't the best. Im hoping I even pass his class.

His class is awful. The two tests are extremely hard and we didn't ever cover half of what we were supposed to. He doesn't use the book at all and doesn't give you any useful powerpoints. If you don't go to class, you most likely won't pass. Take very detailed notes and pray. I have to take him next semester for BIO 310, so I hope it gets better.

He wasn't any help at all, the way he taught was hard to understand because he always off topic, there are two assignments for the whole semester, the mid-term and the final. So if you done bad on one you basically knew you were going to fail. He's very nice and funny as a person but as for a teacher, he's not very good. I would not reccomend him

Dr. Dave is a very nice & great guy, but he gets off topic a lot. For my class we only had to two assignments, the midterm test & the final.. this upset me a lot because I had no way to bring my score up. He also never gave us any extra credit.

Dr. Dave is a really good guy as a person, but really irks me in class. He is really difficult to follow in discussion and it makes you wonder why you came to class. Other students in the class often classify seminar as "a joke class" and to be honest, if he weren't such a stand-up guy, I might feel the same.

Dr Dave is a super guy. He explains things very clearly, keeping him on topic is thetrick though. He gets on tangents as bad as anyone I have ever met, but they are almost always interesting tangents haha. I would recommend him, he is funny and is just a nice guy. If you come to class you will have no problem on the tests.

Dr. Dave is a really neat guy and I have known him for a long time BUT when it comes to learning something like Bio, the way he teaches is not advantages to students. Attendance is not mandatory and his lectures meander. He is very casual with his classes and yet randomly makes his tests very difficult. If you're VERY self-driven, go for it.

If you are serious about your education, you will not learn anything from his lectures. If you want to teach yourself Intro Biology, then feel free to take him. You only get two exams and he throws extra credit at you like none other when you call out something. Another downside I regret to mention is you're judged a lot by others in it.

Do not take this class. Dr. Dave is very friendly, however he rarely ever teachers. He usually goes off subject and goes on some random rant about something. He also jokes and tells stories about his family life. He spends 30 minutes doing this and the other 20 on biology. He is a nice guy but not a great professor. Never uses the book.

Don't bother buying the book. You can find everything you need on his BB site or google. He truly cares about his students but got off topic all the time. I actually like BIO and was hoping to learn a lot but I mostly just crammed a lot at the last second. You will do fine if you just go to class and listen and use BB for the rest of your needs.

You will know so much about his life after this class you could right a biography on him. He attempts to teach you life lessons but is way to preachy about it. As for Biology, he knows his stuff, but there are only 2 tests and they can be very difficult.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Dave. He's a great person, and treats you like a person rather than some face he'll see for a semester. Just pay attention in class to the important parts and write down what he says if it sounds important and you'll do fine. Yeah, he does tell a lot about his life but that's just the way he is.

Dr. Eakin (or as he prefers Dr. Dave) runs a fun class. He goes through power points but always tells jokes which makes it fun...only problem is that he will get on a tangent and talk about his personal life for 30min then he tests us on the info that he missed while telling his story. Hard class, only 2 grades, but fun class

Dr Dave was great about making bio for the non major simple and straghtforward. He gives out plenty of extra credit opportunities, and was always enthusiastic about the subject. I would recommend him!

Take him if you are more interested in his personal life and to be lectured about how to live your life instead of biology. he does offer extra credit if you call out right answers, combines tests 2 $ 3(final) and will double score. But you will pass the class if you study, just won't learn anything you studied if you attend lectures.
