Great guy, very smart, has trouble getting across what is going on in his head. If you decide to take Geob 404, make sure you come to class (he does take attendance some days, and it counts toward the 10% participation marks). Doing well isnt that hard, especially if you did well in stats! Is boring in class, but overall the material is interesting

very undetailed notes, he assumes everyone is experienced in the subject, and consequently does not give clear, easily understandable explanations in his lecture. is a very nice guy though, tries to be helpful if u go see him in his office, but still doesn't seem to know how to fully and clearly explain things.

Nice guy. persistent stutterer. Unclear, undetailed, rambling, inconcise notes. Assumes students have experience and background in the subject, so does not teach concepts or explain material well if at all. numerous assignments to do (no midterm + final in Nov) but does not explain how to do assignments. marks them easy tho!

Such a nice man! Great class...somewhat hard to understand exactally what he is trying to get at, but he is a great help outside of the classroom!! Get to know him, he is brilliant and very passionate...show interest and work hard and you will do well!!!

Taking 316 was a waste of my time and money. Sitting in McClung's lectures was painful. I'm assuming he is close to retirement, because he appears to have lost all drive to engage with students. He is rude, he is hard to understand, his marking scale is unreasonable, and his lecturing ability is appalling.

He is a brilliant guy, although he cannot get the info from his thoughts to a teaching level to students. He is totally incomprehensible to listen to in class. He does however provide excellent help in person, and provides many laughs in class. Turtle! Natural Hazards is solid.
