Very responsiple prof. Understands the School and architure, structure. Helpful. Quiet, maybe a bit shy, but very smart (if you are smart enough he will be very entertaining).

Best professor I've ever had. I can't help but be captivated by every word he says. And he's hilarious.

Misunderstands the very essence of teaching. Is profoundly insecure (due to his incompetence). Reflects and transmits this to students and those who won't buy it get shot down. Classic case of propagating abuse. Promoted to his level of incompetence. Sad case of tenure. I regret every moment spent listening to his drivel.

Generally not well prepared. Lack of rigour, lack of perspective and overtly political. Will not stand for principles. A career academician. A committee man. Pass if you can.

I graduated in 1985. David Covo was wonderful to have as a professor. His discussions were insightful, and very helpful, but sometimes, you had to start off with a basic amount of insight yourself to really understand the most important underlying subtleties. David helped keep things light and real in a class where things could get nutty!

i'm not a fan. i tried and tried again to see the good in him, but i had my fill of talking about everything but the subject at hand. I was told he was good at teaching sketching skills, but in my opinion, he's in love with watching himself sketch... i'm not a fan

I agree that people should respect him as a director at least. He's the most patient person I think I've ever met and he'll go out of his way and then some to help students with anything - especially with sketching.

He is the director of an understaffed architecture school and still has time to help you with any issues you may have... what more could you ask of the head of your department. I agree, everyone should show some respect.

Hi. DC taught me in my first studio course in NINETEEN SEVENTY EIGHT. He is quirky, sometimes funny, but overal a teacher who will help you to go in your direction in architecture. I don;t understand the bitterness against him. It's hard to teach architecture in fact YOU have to LEARN it.

I'd rather have a warm and diplomatic generalist like covo as a director for a school than an ivory tower academic with a single vision for architecture. his tenure is marked with evidence of his hard work. sometimes though, like mary, he is too busy.

This man should not be director of a School of Architecture. Maybe a Victorian Ladies Watercolour School, but NOT a School of Architecture! 'Astonishing!'

Easy fellows, don't let your frustrations poison you. He is a great man and deserves more respect from you. As a professor he still has some room for improvement but as a Director no other professor in the school of Arch. can match him.

D.C. is very good in the traditional skills of architecture. He may not teach you how to become a super designer, but he can give you an excellent understanding of architecture skills that have been around for hundreds of years (sketching, drafting, space

Quite possibly the single most incompetant individual I have ever had the misfortune of working with. As a professor, spends more time "being interested" than teaching. As director, promises the world while accomplishing NOTHING. Sheer & sublime
