Notes on board are terrible. Just words and arrows. Doesn't help at all for a student to take notes. Reading material is small but you never know what chapter he will be talking about each day. Read both texts early in the semester, then reread after he talks about it in class. Tests are all about thinking and whats said in class but refer to text

Horrible professor. For a class that has the potential of being very interesting he made it the opposite. He was monotone, very awful at giving lectures and he says 'uh..uhm..uh..' every second word so its very hard to comprehend what he is saying. He is all over the place and talks in circles. Gives no slides, so you have to take your own notes

Just because you answer the question he asks, doesn't mean it is the answer he wants. Everything is out of the text, but you have to read into the exam questions, if you simply answer what he asks you to, you won't do well. Also, boring lectures and he really doesn't seem to care.

Up until him, I'd never failed a course in 4 years of university. His final seemed easy, but the questions were not accurate; he expects you to answer more than the question on the page, citing ALL the readings relevant, regardless of the question. AVOID this class.

Thought his final was the easiest exam in the world...that is until i got my final mark. UGH, one word: AVOID. PS, his lectures are horrible (if this man was a sleeping pill, there would be no such thing as insomnia...).

The most boring class I took all year. Extremely monotonic lecturer, I found myself having trouble keeping awake in class before I just stopped going. But he doesn't deviate much from the text, so attendance really isn't that important for success. Docked me marks on an essay basically because he disagreed with me.

Comment:
His lectures are incredibly boring and slow-paced, but it's no big deal because the textbooks are incredibly well-written, accessible and he rarely if ever goes beyond what the textbook says anyway, so going to class is almost always a waste of time. He's actually pretty helpful if you can get him one-on-one, but he really isn't the best lecturer.

Attending class is a waste of time which could be used to sleep in. There is absolutely no need whatsoever. The text for the entire first term was just over 100 pages and can be read and well understood in 2 weeks, easily. 105 people were registered and on an average day there were roughly 20 in class. Seriously, sleep in and you'll STILL ace it!

Very dry and slow. Took two terms to learn one terms worth. He really works through the material but won't go any deeper. Nice guy but he could try a little harder.

He was my favorite prof of last year. Anytime I missed a class he was really understanding, and always e-mailed back with the notes. Which was really helpful. His class was a bit hard to understand at times, but there were study sessions set up to help out before a test. I recommend him. Great proff

gave me a horrible mark on my final despite Bs on all my essays and midterms. reasoning: i left my final too soon. never mind i used a whole booklet (with brilliant philosophizing, i might add). not staying for a full 3 hours was grounds for a 60, bringing my final grade down by almost 20%. boourns.

hes an awsome prof! doesnt always explain his answers entirely if u ask a question in class, but if u go to him alone hes really helpful. hes got a great sense of humor and encourages class discussion. go to class and pay attention and you will ace it! id definately take another class with him.

great guy, but he doesnt answer questions in class very clearly. you have to talk to him personaly. i love the textbook, even if some of it is kinda wordy. he encourages class discussion, and as long as you go to class and read the text, tests are fairly easy. if you like philosophy, take it with this guy!

This guy makes you think outside the box! for some students this class comes naturally and suits them. For others they must work hard to understand the concepts and ideas put forth in the classes. Do the readings, go to class and you will not have any problems. He really is a solid person.
