Botany: the class that almost noone enjoys. Having Dobbins is not too bad. The class is HARD. You will have to study, and thankfully he always curves to the highest grade. If you can, avoid taking his lab section. You are learning stuff before you learn it in lecture, and he will keep you the whole time. 3 hours of plants will put you to sleep. Bei

first off, why are u taking this class??? well since u are taking this class, at least you have a good professor. Dobbins is an awesome professor, he loves plants, and he is a cute old man. But the class is hard so i suggest STUDY! although he does curve a lot which you will probably need. but overall Dobbins is really good.

I will preface this by clarifying that I strongly dislike science, so my opinion is most definitely biased. Dr. Dobbins class was one of the hardest I've taken and it was discouraging when he told us that most people will fail his tests (but that he remedies this by curving, which certainly doesn't alleviate the stress of failing).

Dr. Dobbins loves plants, it's evident all the time. He is always excited, even early in the morning and really knows his stuff. Lecture tests are hard but he does curve. Labs are boring and the quizes are extremely hard. He will lecture up to the last second and beyond so be prepared...

Definitely one of the best(top 3) bio teachers that I have ever had. Definitely devoted to his students. He even makes this stuff interesting to me and I am a CS major. Tests are hard, especially the first one, but he grades on a curve so its not that bad. I suggest you take good notes and study.
