Comment:

Dr. Dyer is an incredible teacher who has vast knowledge of engineering principles. However, it was the worst class I have taken at Auburn in terms of test difficulty. I never made above a 30 (10 question multiple choice with no partial credit). The class test average for the semester was a 43. However, he doesn't fail seniors, so theres that.

Comment:

Will never take again! His lectures aren't bad, but his tests are impossible. He writes them so the only chance to succeed is to get lucky with multiple choice, or have 4+ decades of engineering experience. Averages were 40's and no one ever knew what was going when he would go over the answers! Absolutely aweful technical elective.

We had to make our own textbook from his lecture notes which are very unclear, difficult to read, and inconsistent. Test averages were in the 30s and 40s, but he blamed low test averages on students.

Comment:

Lectures were not very helpful, mostly long useless derivations of formulas. Tests are multiple choice and very difficult. He has to curve heavily so that the whole class does not fail.

Dr. Dyer is a wonderful teacher and a caring individual. Anyone would be blessed to have him as a teacher. The experience gathered from one semester with him is priceless.

He tolerates too many lousy teachers in his Department. Somebody who brings in research money has an easy life with him (not surprisingly: scientifically he retired long ago).
