The WORST professor I've ever had. Almost stepped into my grave from boredom in that class. Ended up teaching myself the entire course from the textbook. Went 4 chapters past what other phil 150 classes were learning. Do not take his class for your own sake.

Extremely dry lectures with strangely worded power points. Seemed as though he would add extra words to make more material and sound complicated for no reason. Tests are difficult, although the two papers are easy grades. If you take this class, prepare to be there every single class, if you miss even five minutes, you miss a lot of material.

Prof Elliott is a really insightful lecturer, drawing many topics together in order to help students see the larger picture. His coursework isn't difficult if you follow the grading criteria and know what you're doing. He's always open to talking students through ideas for essays and assignments. By far one of my favourite classes and profs.

I attended all of his classes, read the textbook. But still ended up with less than 80 in his class. His quizzes are helpful, if you enjoy very intense and confusing wording. He marks harder than most professors. And he always goes off on tangents in class. Avoid at all costs

While I attended almost every class, it was long and dry and very hard to pay attention to. Elliot often went off on tangents or went backwards and forwards through material, which made it confusing. Although he posted midterm questions online it was very difficult and the grades had to be curved. Paper grade was not received before final.

His class was so dry and so boring that I didn't attend for most of the semester. He's a funny guy but his lectures were hard to understand and follow. He gives you a long list of possible questions for his midterm and final and it's overwhelming. Half of the class got less than a 60 on the midterm so don't take it for an easy grade.

Midterm, 8 Page Essay, and Final. Difficult when half the grade fails midterm. Power points available, however, the overall course was confusing due to the moving forward and backwards through lectures. Attended all lectures and participated occasionally. On the plus side his humour was a laugh.

Very friendly and helpful, also really kind and funny. Sometimes gets flustered by technology, which can hold up class. This class required 7 homework assignments, 2 midterms, and a final, so the work load was pretty hefty. Keep up on readings and attend class, this is key. All in all, a lot of work, but worth it.

David is a very knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches. His lectures can be dry if you aren't fully engaged. If you listen closely, he has a few hilarious things to say. He is very helpful outside of class time and is not intimidating to talk to. I have taken multiple classes from him and will continue to recommend him.

I loved David as a professor, such a sweet man and always there to help if you need it. Sometimes he would rush through important concepts, but he did multiple examples so it was pretty easy to catch on to what he was doing. he was there to help up until the day of the final, such an amazing prof, but philosophy just isn't my thing.

He's a good guy, wants his students to do well. Marking wasn't the best, went to talk to him after first midterm and he was really helpful and understanding gave me good guidelines for the 2nd midterm. Philosophy will never be an easy elective, if you like philosophy then its the perfect class for you, if not, dont take it.

This prof posts most of his notes very clearly online, attendance is definitely not mandatory! you can basically teach yourself online from his notes and do very well in his courses! he's a super sweet man but lectures can be a bit boring. he clearly tells you exactly what he will be putting on tests so studying is super easy! loved him!

Amazing professor! He's very approachable outside of class, and is willing to give as much feedback as you require for written assignments (including essays). Keeps class discussion stimulating and well moderated. Midterm was much harder than the final. Very interesting class, and he's definitely one of the best profs teaching it.

He is a great teacher. It was the first Philosophy class that I have ever taken. He doesn't move too quickly through material. I never did any of the readings because all of his info in on his webpage and what is on his webpage is all that you need study for the midterms and finals

Excellent Prof. If you put the effort in, you will really enjoy the class. Gets you really thinking about where you stand and why. His lectures are very enjoyable and he is more than willing to engage the class in discussion and argue both sides. You never walk away feeling stupid, even if you have asked a stupid question.

I really liked this prof. He was incredibly kind and patient. He re-marked all of our midterms after the T.A. was "too tough" so we could get a higher mark, and added to everyone's exams to "encourage" us. Never EVER has a prof been so kind & forgiving. Also dealt with a lot of really stupid class comments & questions awesomely. Highly recommend.
