Lectures are very fast-paced. You must be fluent in the banking/finance/economic terms bec he doesn't explain in much detail. He teaches at a fast pace and does not notice if the class is keeping up or not. Dropped the class- it was too hard for me to keep up (and I never have that problem).

Really interesting lectures, I learned a lot of things about the financial system that I never knew before. You must take notes because exam is all notes based. Exams have two parts, take home essays (easy) and in class MC & T/F. Exam questions can be a bit tricky, but nothing too difficult.

He make the lecture very enjoyable. Be sure to listen and take notes otherwise you get left behind. His tests are somewhat tricky so read all questions carefully and answer choices too. Also, his essays instruction are pretty straightforward so follow it so you can ace it.

the students need to focus only on the lectures and take notes, you don't need to buy or bring the texbook to the class, the course consists three exams. each exam has two parts- multiple choice and essay question. the professor will give you the essay question before the exam day and you have to submit it on the exam day, so it is a take home.

Took him for money and banking about a year ago. I wanted to be there for his lectures cause they have REAL WORLD applications, and unlike most economics courses, his class has absolutely no math whatsoever. Never bought textbooks, just showed up, took notes, easy A. Three tests, multiple choice, he stops taking attendance after 2 weeks or so.

Very interesting lectures he is a great speaker. Gives very concise notes and you learn a lot about the Fed. His exams remind me of the SAT, designed for you to get them wrong. Gives you a glossary of terms before exam, but it is difficult to study for it because of the style of the exam. Half of the exam is a take home essay response which is easy

Took him for Financial Economics. I find him to be a riveting lecture. Some might find him overly opinionated, but I did not; he provides data supporting his views and you are free to draw your own conclusions. Gives detailed handouts and review sheets. For an upper level class I thought it would be more challenging, but I still learned a lot

Really good professor; he obviously knows what he's talking about. You'll learn a ton from the course, and attendance isn't mandatory but you'll want to show up anyway. The knowledge has real world applications and is more useful than anything else I learned in college. There are three midterms and as long as you paid attention you should be fine.

If you decide to take this course, just DROP the course early instead of failing. You spend most of your time matching what he says with the textbook and sometimes they don't match. He apparently uses exams from like a decade ago that uses confusing language, test you on cryptic info you have to dig for, and has no review? WTH? Massive Fail @ BC

DO NOT take Friedmad. Period. You are on your own in his classes. Lecture and textbook are borderline useless. He wrote a textbook with the same title and makes up his own questions. Very tricky professor. Says one thing. Does another. Highly DO NOT recommend.

Friedman's lectures have little relevance to your success on the exams. This is an elective treated like a regular course, demanding significant time to do well. This is one of those professors who does not respect the fact that we have other school and life demands. Some people are professional professors and Friedman is not one of them.

Fantastic lecturer but does not interrelate with students before or after class. It's almost as if he turns 'on' and 'off' like a robot. In addition, there are (3) three exams with one the first Midterm only 4 weeks into class. In short, by the 2nd week you are already feeling the heat of his course load as you prepare to take his test "blind."
