Comment:
My main struggle with Professor Green was with his teaching style. In class, he essentially summarized the text, rather than allowing students to engage in discussion about deeper themes in the text. The midterm tested incredibly random, irrelevant parts of texts. Make sure to go to office hours, because he can be vague in his essay comments.

Green is a FANTASTIC professor. I really enjoyed taking his CC201 discussion. He really cares about grammar, so make sure you proofread your papers. He gives fantastic feedback to students, so if you can easily improve your grade by following his advice. Be sure to take his class. He is a really really good professor!

Green is the best professor at BU. He's nice, funny, and cares about students. The work and reading is challenging material, but he helps you understand it. He gives great feedback on papers and is a great writer, so your writing will definitely improve. If you work hard, you will get at least a B+. I recommend this guy to everyone.

I'm not a native english speaker and got a B+. He's a terrific professor and with him your writing will improve significantly. If you have serious fears about death, dont take his calss because the topic of "fear of death" comes up a lot and some people can't handle it. Tough but fair, few professors are better lecturers than him.

Quiz are hard and he is hard grader, but you can learn something meaningful for the rest of your life. Highly, highly recommencement, if you want a interesting and insightful writing class of 150.

Dr. Green is the best BU professor I have ever come across. The topic of the 150 class, Approaches to Death and Dying, is fantasticly interesting and taught very well. Yes, he is a tough grader but if you take his commentary on your paper seriously than there is no reason why you cannot improve your writing over the course of the semester.Take it

Approaches to death. Interesting topic. Some of the best readings I've had in ANY BU course. Prof is a tough but fair grader. He really makes you conscious about writing well, although he favors formulaic writing. He is smart, funny, and approachable. Reading quizzes are detailed. Workload was manageable. Engaging discussions + overall very inspirational class. Take WR150 with him!

He does a very good job of relating the books to our every day lives. He is sometimes a little bit unorganized in terms of his study guides/grading but he explains everything eventually. He also takes a long time to grade but I find that his comments helped me improve my writing.

Dr. Green is extremely intelligent. He is a very hard grader and don't expect to get an A in his class. He stresses grammar beyond anything else. Even though coming to his class is frustrating, I became a more focused writer. He also talks like Dr. Evil from Austin Powers which I thought was funny until I got my first paper back. LOL

I had him for discussion my first semester of Core and I liked him so much I took him again! He can be rather full of himself at times. But he explains the material well and I feel I'm a better writer because of him.

Most people find him very helpful. He seemed nice when I spoke to him about transferring into his section for the spring. Due to my schedule I couldn't. He became rather rude to me after that. (Can't remember if I told him why about my sched.) He was also rather pushy about people using the tutors, which I sometimes found did not help me.

The class mostly was a joke. The quizzes were too hard and basically nothing we did in class was relevant to our major papers...although this is a common complaint with the WR 150 professors. He is a smart guy though and knows his stuff.

Yes, he is a grammar nut, but I've found him to be approachable and a pretty nice guy. He makes discussions interesting. It won't be an easy class if he's your prof, but it won't be painful, either.
