Prof. Hensley is a great professor. Yes his class is mostly lectures, but it is very clear what he wants from the students. His expectations are very doable. He required students to attend music performances and write short essays about them, but what do you expect from a MUSIC teacher. Max 4 tests a semester, he will tell you exactly what you need

DO NOT TAKE! He is very disrespectful to his students. I wish I never would have took his class if I knew what I was really getting myself into. It takes him forever to grade tests, so you don't get much feedback on your grade. Opt for drama or art ! Your grade is based on 3 tests(100 ques. & essay),participation, 4 concerts, quiz, and the final.

If you leave early, he will pretty much embarrass you and then make snide remarks when you're gone. He doesnt like it if you copy your notes from his slides. His class is very boring and doesn't hand back your tests for months. He acts like you are stupid if you don't know something that he already knows or that he thinks is common sense.

He can be very rude but YOU MUST LISTEN AND TAKE NOTES TO PASS THE CLASS! Also read the book. He puts stuff on the test from the book that he doesn't speak on in class. Lectures almost every class, for the entire class. Has a ton of knowledge on the topic he teaches so it's often worth listening to instead of tuning out. MAKE SURE YOU STUDY!!

Was an okay teacher overall. He can be very rude at times. Lags on giving you back your exams. You have to attend 4 classical concerts and write a paper about them. Good things are no homework, grades on a curve, and chapters are short.

Mr. Hensley is nothing short of special. Although he is arrogant to a certain degree, and does indeed get off topic a lot, he is a great professor. As long as you go into the class expecting to learn, and go over your notes the night before class, you should be okay. I got an A+ in the class because I always set the curves on his test, and did E.C.

Avoid this teacher like the plague. His exams #2 #3 were around 100 questions and he gave no prep at all. he doesn't have notes/power pt or anything visual on the board he just sits and rants non-stop for the whole class. He isn't helpful after class either and there is no tutors for music. Good luck!

By far the worst teacher I have ever had, he gets completely off subject and is not clear about what he wants from you. On multiple occasions he tested us on material we had yet to cover. It is a hard class to sit through and he does not get you your tests back in a timely manner. I would NOT recommended his class.

Wow what a waste of time! I missed sooo many lectures but aced the class knowing he wasnt teaching the class anything anyway. super arrogant. Concert reports are time consuming and tedious but are easy and boost your grade.

THE most arrogant professor I have EVER had. It's true he does go off topic and he will spend TOO much class time ranting about how much he hates the administration.
