Dr. Hill is a great professor and very helpful. The class is difficult because of the heavy material covered, but if you read and study a little bit each day, you'll be able to do fine. It's a shame he's retired after this past semester. :(

Comment:

Dr. Hill is a very nice guy, very passionate about his job. Gives very helpful tips. Takes roll everyday which sucks cause hes very boring, MUST buy books which he wrote. Test are multiple choice and same test next class as a group *3 of them* and a big paper due at the end of semester. Overall good class but must read for good grade!!!!

Also, the final is pretty much exactly the midterm. so if you go to class, you are set. just make sure to get the answers to the midterm and study that!!!!! also, you have a paper that's not hard to write just time consuming. I got an A and was really worried at first, but just listen to my advice and the class will not be so overwhelming!

I would totally recommend Hill for Drug and alcohol!! He knows his stuff and is VERY interesting if you are into the brain and how chemicals work on it. he is very smart, and sometimes it seems like he is talking another lang haha. But if you do terrible on the test do NOT worry!! he has a group test then that helps a lot.

Comment:

Notes are key to the two-part midterms and finals. Make sure that you do the extra credit that he provides as this helps to boost your grade. Knowing that you have that will also help because the tests are hard. But, Dr. Hill is very nice helping you when you need it.

amazing man, but his lectures were very boring. i think a lot of it has to do with how the course is so technical. 2 exams (midterm & final, for each there is 1 alone & 1 with group), and a huge paper that is autobiographical.

I took him for Drug Addiction and I was deathly afraid of him because so man people said how hard he was, but I LOVED the class. He is an amazing professor and so intelligent. He teaches a ton in each and every class and his tests are hard, but there is plenty of extra credit. I got an A for the semester and Im taking him again in the Spring

Dr. Hill covers an insane amount of material, which makes his tests hard, but offers plenty of xtra credit to make up for it. class is very informative. you have two tests, two in class essays(not as scary as they sound) and a final 12 page paper due, but he helps alot with the content, don't let yourself be intimated, its a great class

One of the best profs I had at MU. I was scared stiff by all the stories of how hard his classes are, but I completely disagree. There was not a lot of busy work. You have to read and study, but there was only 1 paper. Dr. Hill was super helpful and easy going and gave as much advice as possible before tests.

He is a very intelligent and friendly professor, but takes pride making the test extra- difficult for the students. His reviews for the test are not helpful, it is basically to study the entire text books (even minor details). His class is very time consuming. I dont recommend to take two of his classes in the same semester!!!

He's wonderful to talk to when you need help or have questions. Just make sure you study! His exams are hard as hell but the classes he teaches are really helpful for any psychology or other helping profession major. Do extra credit... it saves your grade!

Had him for Drug Add Lots of bonus points and curves. Interesting topic but lectures are not well organized. Group tests are helpful. HUGE term paper in which you analyze your life you can use your Drug Add paper Read both notes and red book both he wrote study everything for the tests puts things we didn't cover as m/c answers
