He is a really nice professor. He is really funny, and really helpful in all assignments and in-class work. If you are participating in his class or go to his office to seek any additional help, he will nice enough to you and will give you 2-3 marks extra if it helps you get a grade above like from B to a B+. Would take his class again.

He is an amazing teacher he makes a lot of jokes but just make sure you try to understand the concepts and if you do not understand you do not have to hesitate to ask just ask and he will defiantly help you no matter what he is such a nice teacher :)

Personality wise, great. He's funny and keeps the class engaged. But his teaching did not stick with me, did not make anything memorable. I found it hard to learn from him. If you can avoid him if you're not familiar with accounting at all - Don't take him.

David is a really nice guy but a horrible Intro to Accounting proff....... He made the entire course so confusing and difficult that I was completely lost by the second half...I would not suggest his course for beginner accounting courses.

Hoffman is a great guy, he has great sense of humor and very easy going. You must attend his classes because he provides lots of information you may find useful on your tests and exams. His way to say "dollars" is the best ever. P.S. be nice to him, this guy has only 20$ allowance for each month :D

Very clear on his words, descriptive and visually aids you in understanding the fundamentals of accounting. He shows you visually how it is done and what happens in the process. Takes time to explain a hard question then explains an medium question to compare how it is done. Very kind and helpful for this particular course. Highly recommend him.

Very easy to pass mid-terms and final exams if you do the online homework. The guy is funny if you get his sense of humor, most people in my class were immigrants so it was a tough crowd

He is kind of OK. He keeps repeating the same old jokes during classes, which is irritating. I dont think he is taking the course seriously, which is no good since accounting is a complicated course. His writing on the board is very unclear. And he gets mad when you ask him to read what he wrote.

AMAZING professor. Absolutely hilarious. I love his quirky jokes and sarcastic sense of humour. He really does care about the well being and future of his students. Makes a dull subject like accounting fun. He is a CA/CPA so he has a lot of knowledge.

AN excellent teacher with the epic and extremely scared word "DOLLARS". It makes me want to make more dollars whenever it comes out from his mouth. Hoffman built up my foundation of accounting. I love him forever and ever and ever.

Sometimes I woke up in the middle of the night hallucinating his screaming the word "DOOOOOOOLLARS..." Having nightmares ever since he said this word. He's an excellent excellent teacher btw!!

To start, he is a really good guy, funny. Fair with his marking, and genuinely wants you to succeed. That being said, I found it difficult to take notes in his class, as did many others. So learn the text on your own, but go to classes so you know what you need to cover, as he gives you a clear idea of what topics you need to know.
