He gives out basically no grades except for a few assignments & the papers he gives which are difficult since hes a tough grader. Also not clear on what the assignments are. The readings are ridiculously long & painful to read & if you dont read them youll probably be lost during class. I learned more from the textbook than from his classes.

Dr. Imhoof in upper-level classes gives you a lot of freedom to succeed, it's a very independent style of class. It's not for everyone, but he is willing to support and help you if you come to him.

I took perspectives with him, he gave a lot of leeway with his grading but that was because it was a 2 credit freshman course with no true course description. Seems like in his regular history class you will be doing a lot of work so be prepared. For perspectives come to class, give in the work get a good great.

Dr. Imhoof is a fantastic professor. The only thing is while he doesn't make class mandatory, it's advised that you come to class every day. As long as you do your reading and participate in class, you should do fine. It's almost impossible to get an A though.

The kind of teacher that you need to understand RIGHT AWAY or the entire lesson will go over your head. Plan to see him outside of class a lot. If you don't understand what the Enlightenment Period is like the back of your hand, drop the class.

I enjoyed the teaching technique of Dr. Imhoof. He was extremely helpful, and with his strong passion for history, it made me, want to do better and try even harder and reach for the stars to do good in his class. In fact, his passion, made me love history more than I already did. History is my mistress.

Had him for Euro 1648 to present. I would advise to attend class ALL the time, even though he does not make attendance mandatory. He can be a little full of himself and his humor can be childish and his grading is strict. BUT he is highly intelligent and very knowledgeable and always willing to help his students, if you ask. Class was entertaining.

Fun class, hard work. Your grade will most likely not justify what you really learned. Go to class, he's entertaining to say the least, if you don't go the work only gets harder. He's a really hard grader! You'll hate to love and love to hate him. Prolly the toughest 100 level class on campus, but if you want to actually learn something, take it.

The manner of teaching brings a new perspective to the classroom, but if you do not figure out his style with papers, you are in trouble. I requires a lot of thinking and keeps to the main themes. Overall, what I learned was limited, even though I use to like European History. Also, a tough grader.

I've taken 2 classes with him and need to take a third with him next sem, as he is the only Euro. Hist. prof. He forgets that he from TX and teaches in PA... can only remember the few short years he spent in Germany, and thinks hes Euro-hot. Super-hard grader, even when you go to him for help. Avoid unless you're REALLY interested in the class.

This class is a waste of my time. Before taking this class I considered minoring in history, and now I want to stay as far away from it as humanly possible. Tough grader, terrible teacher, more concerned with entertaining the class than actually getting anything done. WARNING: DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

This class was just awful. First, we had to buy like six books, all of which were only available as new at the bookstore. He wanted us to relate culture and politics in Europe, but we ended up talking only about culture. Furthermore, we only talked about American culture. This guy is the pinnacle of the intellectual snob.

Why, oh why, did I take this class? A horrid professor - throws water, acts childish, recycles his lame jokes for the later classes, and also has a narrow concept of what constitutes as a good paper/thesis. Go back to Texas, Dr. Imhoof.
