Comment:
Very lecture heavy and tests a lot of what he presents (incomplete slides). Okay at lectures, will often go off on long tangents about his life which can be funny. Some of his content is interesting especially when he gives his interpretation about current economic/policy issues. **If you can find a copy of the old term tests you will do well**

Comment:
His lectures are fine, sometimes he goes a little fast, but they are very informative. I don't like his practice questions and that is what drives me the most insane. He creates them in such a way that you still don't do well on the exam even if you do them. The answer keys to his questions have numerous mistakes and his exams are tedious.

If you actually attend lectures the class is a breeze. He makes corny dad jokes all the time which I love. Is prepared to answer as many question as you have and loves answering questions.

really great prof! Gives real world example. The exam was super long and though but it's fair. As long as you attend his class, read the slides, and do practice questions, you can get A.

Honestly a great prof that really seems to care about what he's teaching. Gives real world context to the macroeconomic principles hes teaching. If you do all the practice problems and you truly understand them the tests are very fair and you should do well in them.

Comment:
EC140 is rough. Having David Johnson was also rough. He is a smart individual but has a difficult time effectively communicating with his students (especially if only a fourth of them show up to class). He does make himself available to students to answer individual questions and does put effort in to enhance his students learning.

This prof seems to love his job and is very well educated (Harvard grad), but you can't take him seriously in a lecture. It's always almost impossible to know what he is saying and he is extremely forgetful at times. I would recommend you switch out if you can.

Took the course twice and felt like a different course, unbelievably more difficult with this prof, steer clear if you are not willing to put in the work!

Easily the worst professor I've had yet. His midterms are difficult in a way that even if you study you will have a hard time - he admitted they contain some "guess work". I'm not studying to guess. Solutions to practice questions that he posts are inconsistent and filled with mistakes making test prep a nightmare.

Useless professor, doesn't teach much then gives a final exam 5x hard than it should. What he covers in class and assigns as questions to do does not prepare the students for the exam. This guy should stick to teaching masters students.

His assignment expectations are preposterous. Also, he never proofreads anything and most assignments/slides are littered with mistakes. He needs to refine his teaching methods.

Very smart prof!, exams are very challenging, you will not be able to memorize material from the class and textbook, you actually have to think, you must understand the concepts 100% and then be able to apply them, if not your mark will show.
