He's both the smartest and funniest professor I've ever had. He gives pop quizzes (which i was never really good at) but it doesn't affect your grade too much. And Participating will really help you out. I looked forward to every class.

AMAZING guy. I came into class with no knowledge of social matters & left informed. Looked forward to his class every lecture. Work load is extremely light, except if you leave NY times reading until last minute, don't do it. He's to the left & v passionate about his teaching. Open to convo & won't hold political views against you TAKE HIM!!!

Lectures are extremely entertaining. Half the class is him going off on a hilarious socialist rant. Very funny dude. You have to read the times every day (pushing it till the night before is 2 hours of reading). Has easy pop quizzes on the times, 2 exams mc, a little and easy hw. You have to take the exams thinking the way he thinks.

Professor Leventhal is extremely WOKE. He really makes you think about the world around you and helps you break it down in a political , economical, and business prospective (emphasis on the political). Though he is opinionated he always has creditable evidence that backs him up, which is impressive, impacting and I aspire to be that way!

Great Professor but a hard class. A lot of reading and he gives quizzes to make sure you keep up with the reading. Super political, even though that's not the focus of the class. I enjoyed it but some might not. MUST participate- it's a huge percentage of your grade. If you don't want to participate stay away from his class.

I will be honest here. If you are a liberal, yes this is your "heaven" where your social justice warrior beliefs will be further strengthened. You will find it funny and amazing. Oh if you are a conservative, I wish you good luck cuz he will make your existence in the class somewhat miserable. Disclaimer: a lot of swearing in the class.

Absolutely inspirational professor! Best teacher I have had within the past three years at Queens College - I would suggest any student to take, at least, this BALA course. He makes you work for the grade, but you learn so much. This professor deserves a podcast!

Professor Leventhal is great. Definetely different from any other professor you'll take. You have to read the NY Times every weekday, plus the op-eds. It is not as bad as it sounds, you will get used to it. He wants his students to do well, put in the effort, which isn't always easy, but you will succeed!

D lev us an amazing professor. So many people told me not to take him and alot of his reviews are bad. None of it was true. He cares about his students and it's very easy to pick up what he says in class. The only thing that was true are his liberal rants. You need to read the newspaper it. Participate and show up. So, I heard a lot of bad things about david before i took the class, but honestly don't expect the bad to be true. I really enjoyed his class and his discussions. As long as you participate and study you should be fine. I didn't do well on any of the quizes (based on NYTIMES) and I still got a B in the class because I killed it on the exams.

Amazing professor and politician! Knows what he is talking about, makes it very clearly how much of a Liberal he is. Pop quizzes on the NYTimes as the semester goes along, 2 hard exams, and a few HW assignments. Very fair grader and definitely understandable.

This professor is extremely funny and well informed and you disagree with his opinions he will not hold it against you. On the other hand there will be a debate. He does discuss politics a lot but truly intertwines it with the business and economic topics of the class. Lastly, he shows how these topics coincide and the importance of information.
