I honestly don't understand the high grades. Yes he's very nice BUT you're only graded on two tests. Not attendance, homework or participation. So if you do bad one one test, that's basically your grade for the semester.

Professor Machlis a very helpful and great person! Your will have extra credits chances through the whole semester. He teaches real-world examples in the class. He makes the class become interesting. He always welcome questions from students and answer these questions. Exam questions always come from class notes. I definitely recommend his class!

I love this professor. His teaching style is amazing and he is so kind. I wish all professors were like him. Easy A, if you do all necessary work even if it is "voluntary". He is not out to make you fail, and definitely wants to give all A's if possible.

Graded only by a midterm and final but Professor MacHlis is such a great professor. Makes the class very understandable and fair. Midterm/Final are only based off of what is gone over during class lectures. Take good notes, study them and do the voluntary enhancement assignments as he will add 3 points to your average for doing all of them.

He is one of the best professor I have ever met! In his class, I have never ever feeling sleepy or tired. The way he teaches students is so different from other professors. So inspirational, so passionate and because of that, I can understand the lectures really well. Understand it! Not just remember and don't get it at all

Greatest way of teaching. He makes everything easy to understand. You just need to take notes what he said in the lectures and search online for what you confuse, don't need to read the textbook. Always care about his students and he is willing to review materials with you by all means, phone call, email, or even drop by his house.

This guy is great. Doesn't lecture but has more of an informal discussion. Always there for help and definitely remembers who is in contact with him when he grades. Only a midterm and a final which can get tricky if you don't study, but if you pay attention in class and read over your notes you'll do fine!

I have taken two classes with Professor Machlis. He is very enthusiastic about what he does and he makes class exciting and he knows how to get students engaged. Very enthusiastic and makes sure to engage students during his lectures. Prof. Machlis relates textbook material to his own real-life situations, making economic concepts much easier to grasp. Professor Machlis is one of the best professors at Adelphi! Period. He is really enthusiastic and inspirational. You will never get bored during any of his class. He frequently assigns news articles that relate to the content introduced in class to help you understand the real world. He's also flexible on grading. By all means, take his class!!!!!
