McConomy is very strict on the outside, but always available for help whenever needed outside and inside of class. His lectures are usually him teaching for the first class, and then practice problems for the second class. He's very punctual and won't let you in if you're late but he really knows what he's talking about and is a solid guy.

Be prepared to work your tail off for this class. McConomy is one of the hardest and toughest faculty member out there and will make you think very hard. Tests are extremely challenging, killer, and beyond difficult than other professors.

McConomy is the best professor that I have had at Queen's. Very clear in class, accessible and caring during office hours. His grading is very fair. Very experienced in industry. Would definitely recommend him.

Great prof, makes financial accounting easy to understand. However, be ready for his stern attitude in class; make sure you are prepared with textbook and slide printouts. Very approachable outside of the classroom. His COMM111 seems to be harder than other professors, however, take him if you actually want to learn something about accounting.

McConomy does not mess around. Exams are hard and he randomly calls on people to answer homework questions. However, this is because he the most passionate prof for his students, which is to say he sincerely wants you to learn and thrive. Would HIGHLY recommend office hours. His lectures are incredibly insightful and hysterical. DO NOT BE LATE!

Great guy, gives off tough vibe and commands (and deserves) respect. Overall, really qualified and a super empathetic and down to earth, approachable guy. Don't disrespect him and he'll make sure you leave his course with a really strong understanding of accounting

The most concise prof of my first year - his slides are very good. He has a football coach mentality, where he treats the class strictly but the individuals amazing. Seeing him in office hours or around Goodes changes your whole opinion of him. In class, don't show up late - he will stop the class and wait in silence for you to take your seat.

Professor McConomy is a real gem, you are lucky if you have the chance to have him. He may seem like a hard-ass, but typically he's just trying to be funny. His courses are difficult, but he is extremely clear and organized. He is great at explaining course material and is extremely available for help outside of class. Great professor overall!

McConomy will no doubt intimidate you, but he is incredibly intelligent and there for you whenever you need him. Definitely take the time to get to know him, you'll realize he is hilarious! Beware: he does cold call, but as long as you do your work and put in effort, he will respect you and you will be okay.

Great prof, that's always there to help you. He might be tough in class but he teaches you how to properly answer questions and to have confidence in your ides. He's always there to help you outside of class for just about any reason.

McConomy is a great teacher, and a genuinely good person. he might intimidate the students, but at the end of the day, he wants you to do well. If you have questions, stop by his office hours, he will help you. He is very knowledgeable in the field and has no problem explaining concepts if you do not understand them. Read textbook before class.

He's a hilarious guy, mostly cause he'll call people out in class for stupid questions or not paying attention. Pay attention in class and go to his office hours and it's easy to be tight with him. You'll have the hardest assignmentsquizzes than the other sections but learn waaaay more!

He does the job but he isn't the brightest of them all and quite demeaning. The first class, he was joking about his first date with his wife and how the waitress that served them 20 years ago still works there. As a lecturer, he's good, but he does not do any research. Course is way to easy, but asks questions not covered in class.
