He's getting older so he forgets what he was talking about "A LOT" but he does know what he's talking about, and is more than willing to go over things you don't understand as long as you speak up, and all test and quizzes are open notebook so don't miss class so you can get the notes.

I swear he's like 5042 years old, and sometimes he gets confused a little. However, this makes no difference in my beliefs that he may be the best math professor at CMU. He grades very easily, and with his explainations, I actually understood math...for the first time ever. Also, he's American!

He will pass people with a 50%. He is REALLY old, but very smart, and usually enthusiastic. He forgets sometimes, but always corrects himself later. A very good trig professor.

Easiest business calc. professor BY FAR. Covers the basics of derivatives and integrals, but doesn't push too far into the chapters. If you'd bad at math, make sure to take him! Grade based on 12 quizzes (lowest 2 dropped) and 4 exams (final included).

This was a really hard class, and he does a lot of proofs that he expects you to understand, but i think he did well teaching it. He's a sweet old guy who's really passionate about math, but he assumes you understand it. he's really helpful if you go to him for help. You have to take good notes to do well on t he tests, but he lets you use notes.

I am sorry but the guy cannot teach. I took two calc classes in high school and got straight A's. I also took the business calc class up here at CMU and got another A. Then I took his class and struggled to get a B. This guy spends all hour proving theorems and expects you to apply it. Sorry but if I want the proof I will look in the book!

Umm, hard to say. Covers A LOT of stuff very very quickly. You finally have a good grasp on the concept two weeks after you've done it and by then you've moved on to something else. He's pretty nice guy, but knows the material and assumes it's easy for everyone. Summer I, 2005 is his last semester, after that he'll be part time. For 217 he's ok.

covers material very fast and forces you to keep up with him, he will not slow down. lets you have notes on quiz and exams, but he puts weird questions on both. weird to say, he is probably the best 217 teacher.

He is a good math teacher who lets you use a lot of notes for tests and quizzes. If I would have taken another teacher for this class, then I probably would have had to take it again. Just an all around good teacher.

Very helpful teacher to take for 216. Great math professor period. Really breaks down the problems so you know whats going on. Definetly take him for 116, 216 or 217. Lets you use a cheat sheet for tests and some quizes.

I guess he would be easier to understand if you can get past the toilet paper sticking to his face. I had the worst time understanding anything that guy said. Of all the MTH profs, I reccomend him, but I reccomend taking it at Mid instead.

Sometimes I worry about his health. He is a very kind, old fellow. He tries to be funny and make jokes- they usually aren't funny, but it's actually sort of sweet the way he tries. The class is pretty easy. Two lowest tests get dropped.

Really good teacher for a class nobody wants to take. Get a cheat sheet(s) for everything. Quiz once a week but 5 easy questions that he went over in class the day before. Tests are a lot harder than quizes watchout. Book not needed if short on cash.
