Comment:
Prof. Moore really responds to his students' needs. I was averaging Bs and Cs on his tests, but since I went to office hours every week and participated actively during every class period, I ended up with an A-. He is not a professor you want to take if you want an easy credit, but if you really want to learn.

If you're not good at tests, don't take this class. 85% of the grade is based off of tests, you have to read the textbook chapters and come to the lectures because he always mentions stuff directly from the lecture on the tests

He really cares about his students. He puts in so much time and effort to give students good feedback. He is a wonderful professor! I wish I had found out about him earlier on in college. He is a great mentor and a kind person.

If you're interested in psych, take a class with Moore! He's very understanding, funny and willing to connect with students on a personal level. He gives you all of the tools to succeed in his classes (although challenging) through engaging lectures, relevant readings and constant availability outside of class as long as you're willing to ask.

Moore is very nice, but for an Intro to Psych class, it is for sure harder than I expected. However, if you are genuinely interested in Psych, you learn a LOT in his class. Occasionally he will make comments that can be interpreted as offensive, but you just have to take it with a grain of salt. Tests are hard, essays are graded really tough.

David warns all of his classes that in order to do well, students must the textbook and attend class. His tests are tough, but he cares about his students and makes himself available to anyone with questions. If you put in the work, his classes are extremely rewarding. Very personable. I highly recommend taking his class!

Prof. Moore has a lot of experience, but his lectures are merely restating what is in the textbook. His tests are fair, but expects his students to know a lot of minor details. Nice guy outside of class, but not very personal with students.

People who are writing negative reviews clearly have never taken an Intro class that is actually challenging. Moore was helpful, available, and a great lecturer. Expect hard - but fair - tests and read the text. He is incredibly smart and, having taken upper level psych classes with him, totally recommend him as a professor.

Beware: Students who write reviews for this professor are mostly freshman who expect to get by in college with the relative ease they experienced in HS, consequently their reviews are tainted. The class is hard, but if you study and read all the chapters you will be fine. The lectures for the most part are genuinely interesting.

Prof makes offensive comments in class. Tests are hard- everything mentioned in class and in the textbook are FAIR GAME. There is a curve, but as someone already said, if 1 person does rly well, it doesn't help. I never went to his office hours but I went to his T.A.'s review sessions which were kinda helpful... :S Don't skip class. ever.

This class is extremely difficult, however if you are need of help, you have to ask and he will make himself available. He grades on a curve, but if one student does well, it doesn't help. You must read all the material because the WHOLE book is game on tests.

overall, I wasn't impressed with his intro class. I am very interested psych, but found his class very boring. His tests are typical psych tests, but I don't like how he defends his grading system or his "some answers are more right than others" philosophy.

I had him for Intro psych. Luckily, I had decided lonnnng before that I would major in psych anyway. Had I not made this decision I probably would not have continued on after taking his class. If you are at all into the biological/neurological aspects of psychology he might be good for you.

His lectures have entertaining anecdotes. He focuses a lot on the biology aspect of psych. He does not know how to write a multiple choice test. He thinks answers should be obvious but his "wrong answer" options are very confusing. It's usually a hit or miss game of luck.

His lectures are sometimes funny, but for the most part, they were unfinished and too broad. He uses power points the entire class and he switches slides way too fast for anyone to write all the information. Would not recommend his Intro to Psychology class to anyone

His lectures are sometimes funny, but very boring because almost no material is taught during classes. His methods turned me off from psychology as a whole. Studying the powerpoint presentations he depends on is all that is needed to pass his tests.
