Comment:

Analysis of concert music after 1950 is difficult. This prof brings to light what he calls the pluralism of the last 56 years. Really perhaps too much information to digest. He and his TA's have collected over 100 examples of printed and recorded music from this period because there isn't an anthology available. I have learned a lot. Brilliant guy.

Comment:

Fairly nice guy - had some good discussions outside of class. Unwilling to help me when I needed it though, and his lectures: don't even bother. Very meandering, unclear, etc. His brilliance prohibits him from being a good teacher.

Very knowledgable and experienced. He is willing to assist students far beyond the call of duty, if they demonstrate dedication and hard work. His lectures can be a little muddled and disorganized, but he covers an large amount of valuable material.

Ultimately a really good guy. Kinda spacey at times, and VERY easily distracted, though. Still, he rewards hard work, and is always willing to give time outside class to help students. Not always relevant or easy to understand, but a good prof.
