This was one of the easiest classes I took at HC. There wasn't a lot of work, and his paper topics were fair. You will generally receive the same grade on each paper. He loves kids who talk in class, so make a comment each day and he'll be VERY generous with the final grade (I didn't deserve the grade I got!)

He was the least organized professor. He was very nice and not a very tough professor. He liked students who talked up in class.

David J (as our class affectionately called him) is a crazy old man. He will be retiring soon and has begun to lose it. He is very unorganized and boring. He is a very nice man, so you kind of feel sorry for him. I think every class he teaches, no matter what it is called, involves labor unions and catholicism. I would not take his class again.

David J. O'Brien runs a boring class, but his papers are easy (if you hand it in you get a B-) and he gets you to connect history to your life and family history. Boring, but not bad.
