Mr. Overly is very laid back and very intelligent. In the Peace Study class, there is little daily homework. His main goal is that he wants you to learn. I learned so much in his class and felt very inspired by many of the topics and films. You primarily get points for exams which are essays, attendance, and a paper.

If you try you will pass this class, his grading is a little harsh but it helps you get better. He reads to you in class and the the in class essays are super easy. I would deff take his class again.

If you attend all class sessions, do all your homework assignments, and in-class essay tests and research paper, you should easily pass with a C or better. He gives extra credits towards the end of the terms. However, he can be condescending when asking questions and he put you on blast if you are on your phone or talk during his time.

Worst professor Ive had at Citrus. Hes mean & if you ask for help he is going to be rude. Class consists of 3 in class essays & a research paper. I have a good grade in the class so this is not me just whining. He is just awful. Do not take him unless you wanna leave every class in a bad mood.

The best thing about him is he is very realistic! He will tell you how important it is to learn how to write, format, etc. I am currently taking ENG 103 with another professor and I miss him! He really explained everything! & answered any questions we had! & if you want to be engaged in class then you obviously have to participate!

Took dr. Overly for my winter term, super chill if your are willing to put in the effort. Graded the essay exams and research paper remotely easy. Also offered up to 70 points in extra credit if you were willing to do some extra reading. Overall, his lectures were boring and not stimulating but if you're in it just for the credits it's an easy A

Peace Studies interested me so I had no trouble paying attention to his lectures but they were long sometimes. He is serious but he's kind and pretty lenient. Most of the time in his class was spent watching documentaries. But the final was in class essays and a good grade maintained through this course can drop easily if you aren't good at essays.

I gotta say Professor Overly is very straightforward, you know exactly what is expected of you from the course. If you do all the work, you'll pass in flying colors.

Prof. Overly may seems a bit cold, standoffish and serious, but if you ask for the help, he is there to help. I went to his office hours a couple times and he will take the time to go over your work. Picky when it comes to punctuation, but he gives his students plenty of time to revise essays. Act like you care and show effort, you'll get an A.

Great professor if you're already an adept writer and just want the easy A. Show up to class, do the very basic homework, and put some effort into the papers and you'll pass with flying colors. That being said I didn't learn much, so if you're looking for an engaging class you'll get a lot out of, this isn't it.

He expects you to already know what he's talking about, and grades very tough on the papers, his lectures are long and boring so getting threw them is hard, and if you ask for help he'll most likely be rude

Overly is not an engaging professor. He provides you with all of the information you need to complete the assigned work. He is a lenient grader and gives good feedback. Do the extra credit to catch up on any missed points. I do love that he shuts down students that text in class or show up late. College should be taken seriously.

Strict professor, but it's a tough course so takes notes, must attend class to learn, do your extra credits yo help your grade, essays are by memory and tough so study and study. Turn of your cell phones, you will get dismissed. Need the book, and work hard!!!! Not an easy class but it shouldn't be.

He was a okay Professor . Very boring and you watch films for most of the time. His English 103 class consist of 3 essays and a research paper, plus some assignments here and there. He is not very clear on what he wants on the essays and can be rude to students especially if you ask for help. Lectures dry but easy final.

Prof. Overly is very laid back, almost too laid back. His lectures are extremely boring and long-winded. The hardest part of the class is sitting through the lectures. The work he assigns is relatively easy and his essay requirements are less than those that other teachers might assign. I'm glad I won't have to take his class again.

I absolutely enjoyed this professor! he was super helpful every time. he can be intimidating at first because he's very straight forward but really teaches the concepts in analyzing short stories. he grades at college level so if your not as good in writing like myself don't expect to pass without putting in any effort. overall great professor!!!

Great instructor, helpful if you ask for help. You watch movies and he gets into the readings which I found entertaining. He does grade heavily on the exams, final and essays but honestly it's doable. You have to put in work on the last essay. GO to class and do the work and you can pull off an B or an A.

Will watch lots of movies in this course. Weighs the essays heavily, but does not prepare students for the essays. Expects students to know what he wants in his essays, but fails to consider that everyone had different English 101 teachers. Also, he deducts too much on grammatical errors, as the course is suppose to be a critical thinking course.
