I don't think lectures could get much worse. It's hard to keep up with his thinking process and figure out what the heck he is writing. Homework is outrageous as well.

DP is one of the most genuine professors I have ever had. He is EXTREMELY intelligent, just doesn't know how to spell. Gives "prime time" exams which are basically your exams just with different numbers prior to the actual test. Super flexible with due dates. If you put in the time to learn the material you'll have no trouble in this class!!

Also don't get the good reviews. Class is very easy (essentially a review of Chem 1/2 and AP chem) with some extra stuff thrown in. Paul is a poor teacher who makes mistakes. For chem majors this class is necessary which is unfortunate. I would advise attending class during POGIL but otherwise skip, reading the book will get you an A. Class is easy

I don't get the rave reviews. He consistently made mistakes in lecture, there was absolutely no grading scale, disorganized, unclear. At the end of the semester, over half of the total points came from BS homework assignments that were never explained and unfairly graded. Final was an ACS standardized exam that was dropped on us. Not recommended...

DP is awesome. He is by far the best option for analytical. Make certain you do well on the first bonus quiz. I got perfect on that, 85s on my tests, and needed an 11% on the final to keep my A! Amazing!

Fairly decent teacher, also hilarious. If you dont have a great sense of humor, you wont catch his subtle jokes-- they're very dry. As a teacher, I felt he was teaching a very boring subject and was doing all he could to keep it interesting. Teaching rate of reactions isnt something that students stay awake to, but he did an okay job.

He is a great teacher and generally loves to teach. He is a very funny person and is a bit off his rocker at times but is competent in the course material always. He makes class interesting and fun and has little sayings that help you remember the material. Tests were very easy and came straight from the practice exams. Take DP whenever possible.

Great Teacher. He makes complicated and difficult things simple. He is very absent minded and funny in his own way. He goes way out of his way to make sure everyone is prepared for the test. Anyone who pays attention in class, goes to drill and and works on the practice test should always do well on the tests.

Please take DP. Earlier comments portray him confusing and stupid..that's BS.He is completely competent and spends hours out of class trying to make Chem I easy to absorb for the incompetent people that sleep through class. Print off the study guides, and if you are confused make an appointment. You will get an A if you do what he says:PRACTICE!

DP is a great teacher. The class isn't that hard, you have to study though. Don't expect a curve, it won't happen. Go to class, and he'll give you bonus every once in a while. If you have to take Chem II, this is the guy to get.
