Professor phillips is an excellent professor and a great person all around. Although it's only a introduction to psychology course and much of it is generalizations, I feel like I learned valuable life lessons through his lectures. His lectures are completely based off the textbook with an addition of his own input.

PHILLIPS IS THE BEST!! His lectures are clear, he is funny, and gives EXTRA credits! I wish he taught PSYCH2. Never miss the lectures, weekly videos, and tests. Tests are hard but if you listen and ask question in class you will be fine. Do extra credit, READ,Pay attention to his word choice! I got an A so any hard working student can get an A LUCK

Class is generally really easy. I had a friend who was taking his regular classes, they're pretty much the same. The only difference is because it's a scholar's class it's supposed to challenge you so he assigns a research paper, It's not too hard. DO the video summaries and pay attention to the lecture (interesting)Read the book and you'll pass.

Great teacher, his tests are mostly from the text and from the lectures. Do the weekly videos, they're easy and help boost your grade. Do extra credit, he replaces your lowest test score with a 95% if you do the extra credit, if you don't do it he will just drop you score instead. Overall, he's really sweet and funny. Likes ppl that ask questions

GREAT professor. He's pretty mellow in character so if you're sitting in the back you might have to concentrate harder (but hey, that's on the student). As long as you show up, stay focused, and take decent note, it'll be a breeze. It's easy to be engaged in his class.

The class seemed cool until i had to talk to the professor through email telling him an issue i had with the class and then he ended up just being flat out rude to me for no reason. Plus he talks really low so if you sit in the back you wont understand a thing.

He is a cool professor. The class is not all that difficult considering I am a lazy student. Pay attention to his lectures (take good notes), watch the weekly Youtube videos he assigns, and read the text book. Offers an extra credit opportunity.

His lectures are super clear-cut, funny and inspirational. Just pay attention to his lecture, (go in details. note his word choices and how he phrases the sentences) and you will be fine on the exams because they are pretty much just his lectures turned into multiple-choice questions.

This was a really fun class and Professor Phillips was amazing. His lectures are interesting and clear, plus he's really funny. The tests are tough and based on lectures + notes + weekly Youtube videos but he offers extra credit and will drop your lowest test score. Would definitely take another class with him!

If you are not a good note taker do not take this class. His tests are pretty much based on his lectures so my suggestion is to RECORD them. The book just offers an extra source but I would recommend reading it just in case you might have not understood a certain topic he discussed during lecture. Its worth it to spend a lot of time on the videos.

SO GREAT! No idea what that other poster meant. He is so passionate and funny, it makes you love psych. Yes, he does have opinions but so do most teachers. He talks about evolution, but only as a foundation for the rest of the class. Book is helpful for studying but tests are mostly the lecture. Go see him in office hours and take this class!!!!

terrible class. spends the whole time talking about evolution and saving the planet. very boring and very biased. he also has a lot of opinions and he tests you on that rather than the actual material... dont take this class.

Phillips is a great teacher. He takes an evolutionary approach on psychology, which can be difficult for some. His test are seriously a killer tho! The final is cumulative and is worth 2x more! It can make you or break you....it broke me. It dropped me to a low B. Do the extra credit!!!!
