As a freshman, I dreaded his classes so much that I dropped photo class when I learned he was teaching it. As time went by, I started looking forward to going to his classes. Turned out to be my favorite professor. Very intelligent. Likes to make fun of college administrators and people from Ohio. Extremely nice once you get to know him.

Dr. Rayfield is the type of professor I look for. He provides information from many different angles. He is opinionated, but he has had his whole life to study philosophy, so I would hope he has formed some opinions. I suspect those who "hate" him to be religious fanatics who didn't like God week.

Dr. Rayfield is one of the best professors I've had in my college career. He is engaging, well informed, fluent and his dry sense of humor makes his lectures enjoyable. He is clear about his expectations, yet is flexable enough to consider special circumstances. I would take more classes from him

A intellectually gifted individual. SVSU is losing a really gifted professor. I only wish I had taken more of his classes. Professor Rayfield is a nice person.

I don't agree with him on many issues but I have to admit that he is one of my favorite professors. I love his stories and examples and they really clarify things for me. The reading can be confusing and somewhat difficult but just make sure to keep going, his lectures clear up almost everything.

This guy is way out of date with his ancient overhead lectures. Do not take him during the day, if you must take the night section; he is a night kinda guy, so it would seem (I attended one of the night sections and he is much more alive then). Other than that he is just a wierd dude.

This guy is a wierdo plus he is way to strict in grading his papers. His quizes are typically pretty easy if you attend class. Personally I'm glad to see this guy go.

Funny guy and extremely intelligent. Papers can be tricky if you don't read the material a couple times. Go to class he gives quizes almost every week.

The class itself has some interesting merit to it but the delivery of material was very boring. The class hardly lets out early at all and the quizzes arent all that easy. the tests are kind of hard too....lots of reading required!!

makes class a little difficult, but as long as you can stay awake, you will understand the material. make sure you take lots of notes, no exams, just quizzes and papers, makes it alot easier.
