This class is very difficult just because there is so much information to retain in a short amount of time. 99% of learning the anatomy and phylogeny is done by you at home, not in class lecture. However, you will need to come to class to have access to the models you need. Quiz every day, at least 1 test per week if not 2. Great professor.

Zoology in general can be so tedious and boring. Dr. Seibel made it a fun experience with lots of quirky anecdotes to help you remember things. Some of his lab questions were tricky but if you pay attention to the lecture you'll be fine. He rewards you with fun field trips throughout the semester. Be ready to study and have a unit test weekly.

Very very kind person. He truly wants his students to do well, and learn the material. He's very passionate about what he teaches and does an excellent job. This isn't an easy class, but it's worth it. Show up, and study for the tests and you should be fine.

What a wonderful and sincere professor. He has his doctors and loves birds, has a child like curiosity for life and it just a peach. Wish I could take him for all my classes. He truly wants you to succeed no dark sarcasm in the classroom.

Dr. Seibel has really been a great professor! He really knows his stuff and his passion comes through during class. He cares about his students and genuinely wants them to do well. Be prepared to have at least one test or quiz at every class, but it's worth it in the end and keeps you from slacking off in-between classes.

class required a lot of studying but it's a science course so that's to be expected. You will take a quiz pretty ,uch every class period. I liked that personally--it kept me from procrastinating and studying last minute. Overall I enjoyed the class and would recommend!

I miss this class & the prof. -very much- loved the evening section. Been a few years & finally completing eval. Assuming same format, don't skip, do the readings/workbook, and you'll be OK. Weekly tests were a pain, but preferable to a final, comprehensive exam due to amt. of material. Compared to university bio courses, 127 is a walk in the park.

I have taken quite a few courses at jccc.. I have never had a teacher that cared so much about the class they were teaching. He is so knowledgable, you can't help but learn something from what he teaches. Great person, great teacher. Favorite teacher by far, and I haven't even completed my first semester yet.

He was a wonderful teacher and person! Expect a test a week sometimes 2. I felt we should have gone over the chapters more before the test. But once again amazing teacher and person!

If you show up to class there is no reason you shouldn't get a "A". There are a lot of tests but that means there are a lot of oppertunities for points so if you bomb one test its not the end of the world. A TON of opportunities for extra credit as well. If you fill out the packet that he gives you you will be fine!

Great Professor, one of best at the school. He loves what he teaches and really gets students to love what they are learning. You will have to put in a lot of work. Study packets every night, you will need to study lab materials weeks before practicals. Tests are weekly and sometimes 2 tests in one week. But a great course, I would take it again.

Certainly the hardest class I took this semester, but I loved it! Seibel is so helpful and teaches you stuff that will actually stick. You have to work for your grade, no doubt, but it's well worth it. And he's always there to answer questions.

Super hard class, he likes birds, A LOT. The other Zoology professor is easier to get exactly what is required of you. He is a great professor, don't take this if you are just using it as a fun class about animals to fulfill a BIO requirement. Its a HARD class. He does not have any cumulative tests except the bird lists. Good Luck!

Dr. Seibel is a nice, funny & very knowledgable. There were so many quizzes & tests! Lots of opportunity for points. There is a ton of memorization, it was hard for me to find time to study. If this was my major I'd take him, I didn't have the time to dedicate to the class but still passed. He explains a lot of stuff, it was beyond my interest.

This is an intense class. Be prepared to spend hours studying for lab practical. There are daily quizzes that can only help your grade, weekly tests that aren't that bad as long as you follow along, pay attention and study a bit. I strongly suggest getting supplement materials to study with. Not for slackers or faint of heart. Overall, enjoyed it.
