Comment:
Lectures were absolutely pointless, the textbook was awful, there was nothing posted on the course website - including the syllabus. Material that was supposed to be covered (Fourier Series, Legender Polynomials and Bessel Functions) was not difficult, you have to learn it on your own. Marking had nothing to do with what what was learned. Avoid.

Bad lecturer that can't stay on topic and won't stop laughing at his own unfunny jokes. Lecture notes are a mess and assignments don't have a marking scheme or any clear requirements. Everything is given as print outs in class and nothing is available online, so if you miss a class you better hope a friend went. At least the course was easy

it is supposed to be a course on optoelectronic devices, yet he talks about fiber communications, and all he does is write derivation on the board without explaning him, to kill the boring 3 hours lecture with full board of derivation. yes, derivation only, and once asked what we are deriving for, he couldn't give a clear answer. Time Waster.

Intro to Optical communication. I have to rate this guys. The dude's freaking hilarous. Absolutely hilarious. He teaches sometimes too. Totally eccentric. And he assumes that you wont' come to every class. :P He's right, it was an elective. The exam set a record with full attendance this year.

If you know how to program in C++ already this is the best class ever, all you do is show up and listen to him tell crazy stories. If you don't know C++, then you have to learn it from him, and then... may god help you!

Very confusing, can't explain things well, not helpful. But if you take 239 and you already know C this is a really easy course. If not, good luck.
