Well she is a good lecturer, compared to majority of Insturctors at SFU. She knows how to teach but the key critical issue to me, is exam. Extremely hard exam, somewhat picky. Come on we just need to pass, thats it! She basically tests you problems that will never appear in the rest of your life! Large deviation from what you have in practice.

Extremely picky on tests for stuff that really doesn't matter, you have to follow her personal rules to a T or you'll be docked marks. She doesn't think the textbook that is specifically designed for this course is hard enough, so she makes the quizzes and tests much harder. Doesn't seem quite fair. I'm a straight-A student and I really struggled.

If you have some background in pre-calculus 12 or 11, this class will not be hard at all. I have yet to open my textbook. However if you do not have a background in math, it is highly suggested to do some homework everyday, as well as study hard for the weekly quizzes.

The first few classes aren't crucial, but the rest of the classes should be attended because the notes are extremely helpful. Homework isn't mandatory, but highly recommended if you want a good foundation for 105. She's a little disorganized and makes mistakes during notes almost every class, but she's trying her best.

Fantastic teacher, she was quite clear and took more time to answer student questions than I have experienced before while somehow not falling behind in the material. Things that seems unclear in the past were suddenly crystal when she explained them. She has a measured pace and builds up the difficulty of examples so you never feel jumped ahead.

Not happy with her.Beyond horrible. I had to take a science course and chose hers. It's a nightmare. She is mor difficult than helpful and very strict. You have to follow her rules without any say. I am very disappointed with her. It's far from fun. Definately did not meet my needs and made it a stressful experience worsening my health.

Best math teacher at Capilano University that I've ever had. Super nice, and doesn't make you feel stupid, as so many other math teachers do. Tries hard to answer student questions as best she can. The course isn't easy, effort is needed!

Not a good teacher. Cannot explain things well. ALWAYS makes mistakes, to the point where it gets hard to learn cause you don't know if your answer is wrong or hers. Tests reflect hardest questions assigned or in notes. I went to class but did not listen to a word (she just confused me). I taught myself everything using the textbook, and did well.

horrible.do not even bother taking her class as it is a waste of time and money. gives easy examples in the notes which are nothing like the ones on the tests so you're never prepared.her tests are nothing like the practice exam booklets or homework.she cannot teach and is unclear and not at all helpful and doesnt know what shes doing.

Simply is not a great teacher. Talks in circles, does not explain problems clearly, uses way to much math jargon, cant get to the point! Quizzes easy but midterm is much harder and uses questions never reviewed in lecture or assigned/recommended work! Not helpful in tutorials at all-waste of time!

Deanna is AWESOME! She's extremely helpful. If you had a question in class, she would try to explain it in another form in order for you to understand it, plus she has office hours where you could get extra help. If you do your homework, you would do well on the quizzes. Her notes are organized. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Worst instructor I have ever had!! Talks in circles. Writes messy. Often makes mistakes and students have to correct her! She didn't space out course well and had to rush through the rest of the instruction at the end of the term. When I visited her in her office, she stared at her computer, paying little atttention to me. Don't waste your time!

Deanna spends way too much time on the simple course material, then rushes to finish up with the tough stuff at the end. She often talks in circles, and repeats the same explanations when it's obvious the whole class gets it. I felt unprepared for the final because she rushed so much during the last month. Hopefully the other teachers are better.

I don't think she knew what she was doing. I felt like i was losing 4 hours of my life each week in her class. I could have done just as bad of a job standing in front of the class and copying notes. Very very confusing.I had to spend most of my time reading through the text book to understand what she attempted to explain in class-wasting my time.

I wish you could have came back and taught Calculas 2 this summer. Actually she was pretty good. She wrote down how to do each problem in detail. Ian is good too, but he tends to skip problems and show fewer steps.

When I had Diana for Math 105, 116, 117, 126, 127 I had only good experiences with her. She was clear and helpful. She did make some little calculation mistakes - but nothing major to stop the understanding. That was in 2000/2001.
