She is not a good teacher. She is a very smart professor and knows what she is talking about, but she could care a less if you do ! She teaches way to fast and is quite rude most of the time. She also grades extremely hard. This is coming from a straight A student ! She's not a good teacher.

An incredibly intelligent professor who is knowledgeable in all things biology. I have taken several classes with her including trips to Costa Rica and Beaver Island. You will need to study for exams, including memorization of terminology, concepts, etc. I highly recommend taking any class with Deb Hautau. You will be in for a treat!

She tries to be funny to make the class more interesting...granted I did learn a lot, and she explains things very well...but, exams were a pain, you have to study a week or more in advance to really get a good grade. Notes are easy, and she tells you what to study for...overall it was an OK class.

Not a hard class, she lets you know everything that will be on the tests. All you have to do is memorize it. I wouldn't bother buying the book though, its a waste of money cause we never use it.
