Dr. Lindsay is a terrible professor. When I took this course in Winter 2018, it was the second time that it had been taught, but the material was still presented in a highly disorganized , irrelevant way, making it nearly impossible to study the notes... And don't get me started on her little rants that she interrupts class with. Absolute mess!

Most of the class doesn't understand the assignment she wants, and instead of explaining it to us clearer she rags us out for getting too many emails. Teaching style is horrible, impossible to take notes and listen to her at the same time. Hoping to avoid her for the rest of my years.

Comment:

Took her two American History courses. Does power-point with a lot of notes on them so you end up focusing on them and not her, even though she's giving extra information than what's on the board. Assignmentsreadings were really dumb. No midterm - had to remember everything from the whole semester for the final exam.

You cannot study properly for her exams. You have to guess because topics can be obscure and be something she talked about for 5 minutes and left it. Too many irrelevant, never used notes, not enough of what she tests on. Overcomplicated things.

Not recommended! Marked papers then said students never did it to begin with. Grade depends on her mood, holds it against students for missing 1 class due to illness even if they provide medical excuse. Gives directions then marks on something very different, does not allow students to contest her marking or methods. She's very unpredictable.

Often a misunderstood prof. If you give her respect, she will do the same. The text is not very helpful but all notes are in pp which makes it easy. Expects you to read and understand the subjects, but presents them clearly. A little hard to figure out at times, but still a good prof.
