She is an amazing professor and really wants all of her students to pass. She is really caring and is very understanding. Her class was very easy but some assignment did seem like busy work. There only were two vocab quizzes and they were with partners so it wasn't so hard. def. take again love her the most!

Shes very nice and caring! We dont read books ! We read articles, but are very interesting. This class really prepares you to do better at your reading,writing,and speaking skills. Theres not much Hw, And there are no exams! This class is design to help you!

Comment:

Hughes really wants you to do good in her class and outside of class. She is very respectful and is just the best. Her class wants you to do good and actually do work. She makes you want to go to college for yourself and always wants you to do your best. I would definitely take her again. Great Professor !

The class in general is a waste of time. You spend an unnecessary amount of time for homework, but she is a REALLY GOOD professor. She's super nice and very understanding about life's situations. Although this class is basically only good for vocab development, I would not take this class. You get a nice and well teaching professor, but time wasted

Shes a great teacher. she gives extra credit when you go to the tutoring center with the tutor you have in class (only if you have a tutor in class).She makes the class interesting and she would answer your emails really fast. also, if you don't understand the homework you can text her through Facebook or emails and she would help you with it.

I can not really say anything negative about Professor Hughes!!! She is really helpful and shows she wants you to succeed and move on to better and bigger things in college. The only thing I did not like is that we had homework between Monday and Wednesday than between Wednesday through the rest of the week. But it's really doable. TAKE HER!!!

Professor Hughes is a great teacher but that doesn't mean her class is easy even if it just a remedial class. She makes you work for your grade. Your effort will not go unnoticed. I got an A in this class plus got bumped up to Read 142. Don't slack off with the homework or projects because it will have an impact on your grade.

She's a hard but and awesome professor. She does assign a lot of work but it will get you ready for your other classes. She will help you in anyway of she can toake the assignments easier to understand and she tells you if you are doing right or wrong and let's you fix it if it is wrong. She is an amazing teacher! She cares a lot about her students and will answer any questions you have. She will stay with you after class, always respond to her e-mails, as well as helping you during her office hours. She gives a lot of little (small points) extra credit, so don't pass up the opportunities! it all adds up in the end!

took her my first semester at college. Amazing teacher. Does give a lot of homework, but it isn't hard at all. A lot of annotating which isn't hard at all. Do all your work and you'll have an easy A. Isn't a very hard grader. overall awesome teacher. she really cares about her students.

One of the best professors in my history of schooling!!! Keeps you on your feet on subjects. I would highly recommend Ms. Hughes if you like to be challenged. Awesome personality too!

Hughes is a great professor to take if you dont mind busy work. She was very helpful whenever you needed to ask her anything. The homework does pile up and there is a NO LATE WORK policy. however if you do all of your work and try in this class you will succeed.

Deidre is a great instructor. Lots of work for the class but it is not hard work. She is easy to reach and to talk to; very dedicated. Lots of group work which I'm not a fan of, but in this class it worked & worked well. Only way to get an A is to do the work - which is how it should be.

I had Deidre for Reading 96 TAP for the TAP program. Deidre gives a lot of homework and at times it can be overwhelming. However, the class is easy to pass if you complete your homework and dont fail the vocab quizes. The lessons in the SI sessions were not helpful at all.

Took read 142 with her my first semester and it was one of the best classes I've ever taken (and I'm now out of graduate school). It's a lot of work, but she is a great teacher and you can learn so much from the class if you put in the effort. Can't recommend it enough!

Comment:

Very helpful and not too difficult of work. No formal tests, just the very occasional vocabulary quiz. Although there is a very high workload for a 3 unit class. You will have anywhere from 1-2 hours of work per class period, but you will definitely take something from taking this course. Hughes truly understands how to teach
