Nice, and caring. She is also chill with paper deadlines that she extends the due dates if you need more time. Open-minded and values your opinion. Approachable and very knowledgeable about her stuff. She is a tough grader but gives good feedback and a chance to re-write the paper for a better grade. 2 papers, a T/F final. Participation matters

Epistemology is a writing intensive course - 2 papers that are very big. One is 7 pages long and the last is 7 - 10 pages. The papers are in exegesis style and require you to really understand what's going on. If you work hard though you'll get the grade you deserve.

Very open minded and makes you feel very welcomed in her class, she is beyond the words understanding as she has kids herself and understands that life sometimes can get in the way. Really happy I took her this semester and will be taking her again for another class.

She's really sweet, knows her stuff and is very open minded & accepting of the views of others. You have to read the readings before each class, so that you know what's being discussed in class. She assigned 2 fairly simple papers, and there was a True & False final. If you show up to class prepared, participate and do your work, you'll get an A.

This class is very interesting. You discuss philosophical topics that allows for discussions between "self" and situations around the world. Expect questions for discussions that will take up class time. The conversations come directly from the assigned reading textbook. You are required to write a 8-12page paper, 11font. The final was annoying.

Professor Shottenkirk is SO dope! I love her. I took her for two classes Spr. '14 and I am taking another class this Fall. She's very clear and she will go over examples in several different ways from all sides to make sure you understand. Finals were exactly what was done in class & for hw. She's hilarious too. Love this woman!! #taketaketaketake

Great professor, very friendly and willing to help. She does assign a paper, a presentation and final but they're all quite easy. The only thing is she makes attendance appear to be mandatory, but i skipped a bunch and was penalized too badly.

TAKE PROFF. SHOTTENKIRK. she is extremely knowledgable in her field, and makes learning fun. you don't have to participate but she encourages it. very lenient. no midterm, no paper, just a final. easy homework's from the textbook which all ends up on final. this was probably the best course i had, HIGHLY recommended, GREAT PROFF.

She's adorable--helpful to a fault & totally committed to making her students' lives easier. Be warned: she's little out there, so if you have trouble keeping up with people who jump from topic to topic, you'll be lost. Still, she's a good lecturer & such a cutie that you'll want to come in just for her.

Overall, a very nice woman. She's very articulate, but sometimes a little condescending during classroom discussions regarding moral topics she seems biased against. Her papers are pretty hardcore, however, she allows students to rewrite their papers. I'm not exactly sure how she averages out grades, 'cause I thought I did pretty well...

If you are willing to work your ass off take her. 2 papers, first one is six pages long, second one is 10 pages long 11 font. It is way too much work for a Business Moral Iss Class, extremly tough when it comes to grading papers.

I don't understand anything about philosophy so I've always hated it.She was really nice and had a lot of patience.Very funny and cute the way she talks. I went to her for extra help about rewriting the 2 essays she gave, studied for the final which was 100 M/C questions and got a 92. A for that class, don't think I woulda got that grade from anoth

she is awesome. you need to read the text though, and if you dont at least get a summary online about it so that you know what she is talking about in class. she marks papers hard. dont leave them for the last min. she is very good about pushing papers back...if you need more time and the rest of the class agrees...she has no problem pushing it bac

Philosophical, engaged, thoughtful, and incredibly energetic. She tries to see things from your point of view and then analyses them based on that, versus forcing a perspective on you. This makes her a great professor.

She is oh so sweet! and also extremely intelligent. I always hated morning classes until i had her. She is a tough grader on your papers though, so expect to read the book and ask her if you dont understand anything. She will make time for you to understand it outside of class if she has too. Love her!
