Great Professor, definitely take him if your math skills are solid, you will learn a lot. Very detailed lectures, very fair grader, with multiple opportunities for extra credit. His tests often appear difficult at first, but with a little thought you will see they are in fact very simple. Keeps the workload very manageable.

Honestly, one of the best professors I've ever had. Extremely fair grader, very detailed lectures, and plenty of opportunities for extra credit. Given that you have a solid math background, I'd highly recommend.

He likes to teach a lot of theoretical stuff, but isn't so great at giving relevant example problems that could show up on the homework or exams. The exams were pretty difficult. I pretty much went into this thinking that Calc 2 would be the hardest math class at NJIT but I was so wrong..... At least he grades the exams himself for Honors sec.

Scattershot teaching manner, lectures were like watching a genius brainstorm before your eyes without any preparation. Constant errors on problems on the board. Only take for Calc I if is your last resort. Even if it is, get on every other professor's wait list and pray something happens.

Nice guy, but unless you like very theoretical math, you may not like his teaching style. Blackmore is very motivated and willing to help, but he tries to teach math with no numbers! He teaches mathematical formulas but won't give any real examples.

Amazing professor. Will challenge you...which is a good thing by the way. If you like to learn and are interested you will love him. If you don't like to learn and are not interested then change your major. Very theoretical, gets to the point, covers interesting topics thoroughly, and skips the mundane computational bs that we learned in HS.

Incredibly knowledgeable professor. Is a foremost and celebrated mathematician. That being said the class is a good challenge. Few homeworks to do but tests are not trivial. Read the book and do problems. I am under the impression that he is a somewhat harsh grader in the end. Will help always though if you need it.

I agree with the comment above. If you know math, you would definitely enjoy his class and his graceful manner. For the exams, he sets up tricky but very interesting questions, which shows his capacity as a mathematician.

He was horrid...at the end of DiffE I knew more Greek letters than actual Math. His class was my ONLY B in a Math class at NJIT and I was a Math minor.
